At least Charlie Ward was accurate on those five yard check downs.

Sure Jackson can run, but if I was an NFL GM or head coach, I wouldn't want him running my offense.

Only Heisman winners whose team finished on 3-game losing streak:

2016 Lamar Jackson (Louisville)
1987 Tim Brown (Notre Dame)
1957 John David Crow (Texas A&M)

Ouch. Louisville ends 2016 the way they started it, with a shot to the gut.

Yes, no QB, not even a Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, can have a good game when their OL gets manhandled like UL's was today. Nothing LJ could do about that.

No other Heisman winner was a more unimpressive passer than Tebow. Not even the non-quarterbacks.

Tebow was the worst. I hate how they still give him credit for the national title florida won when he was a freshman and a back up QB.

And for the most part LSU did it with only rushing 4 guys while dropping back 7 to 8 guys....Arden Key was in Lamar jersey today...

To his credit, he did eventually win an NFL playoff game.

All those post-season awards should be awarded post-season. Not between the regular season and bowl season.

Rutgers fans have no authority to label someone the worst.

Remember that you can't label a Heisman winner as terrible because of their pro career.

Why not - they should be able to recognize it!

RE: Is Lamar Jackson the most unimpressive Heisman winning passer since Charlie Ward?
I thought the Louisville defense was playing well enough to be competitive throughout the game. Yes, there were some drops by their WRs and the offensive line was schooled by the LSU defensive front, but Jackson's play was horrendous. Even when he wasn't under duress, he wasn't accurate and didn't make good decisions with the ball. He only completed 10 of 27 passes and didn't have his third completion until late in the third quarter. I don't think he would have had 10 completions if LSU hadn't softened their defensive scheme in the fourth quarter. He is supposed to be this other worldly runner, but he carried 26 times for 33 yards and that includes a long run of 15 yards. With Louisville's schedule, he could win a national title in the right circumstance (better offensive line play, stout defense, luck of the draw in the playoff), but I would not draft him to play QB in the NFL.

Face it guys, whether it is Tebow or Jackson or Ward, or insert name, the whole danged thing is controlled by the talking jackasses on ESPN every Game Day.

We haven't had a real vote on the best offensive player in the nation for quite some time.

First the focus was shifted off of being the best offensive player and the most important facet of your team to the best player on the hottest team. Why? The networks didn't want to give the public a look at a great player on a team that didn't draw ratings. So advertising bucks killed what the trophy was intended to represent. If the player could be from a media darling team, or on a team that played some media darlings down the stretch then that was gravy. But now most candidates are from schools in which ......you guessed it....ESPN has an interest.

They are ruining everything decent about the history and tradition of college football!

So lay off of Jackson. It isn't his fault. He was just the lucky lottery winner at the start of the season when they picked a name out of the hat at Bristol.

LSU's front 4 shredded our Oline today. Any QB would have had problems. Not Lamars fault. Oline has been horrid for the last month. He was sacked 22 times in the last 3 games, and it would have been worse if he wasn't such a great athlete.

He wasn't the starting QB that year in 2006, but he did contribute significantly.

And he was an effective college passer, his 2008 and 2009 years were fantastic.
