UConn has to...
...fire Kevin Ollie.

Sorry, but it's inevitable.

The man has cratered your men's Basketball program worse than Tuberville cratered UC's football program. He won with Calhoun's kids but now this team is all his and look what you've got.

The man has to go.

good...he's a pathetic whiner and he stands so far out on the court he could guard the other teams center in the low post

Not worse than Tubberville. Unlike Flubs, The next guy will have a lot of talent.

Ton of talent on UCONN, too bad it is mostly out for the year right now. Ton of talent coming in as well. If this happens next year, you may have a case, but not now.

They won't fire him cause of the injuries. If he fails next year he's gone

Does Calhoun still have any influence at UConn? If so, Ollie may not be so easy to let go since he was one of Calhoun's boys. Just wondering.

What KO is doing to UCONN is eerily similar to what that bozo Pastner did to Memphis. He'll probably get another year because of injuries and a championship, but if he has another lousy season next year, Uconn could really be in trouble.

Do people realize UCONN lost 2 starters (and possibly there 2 best players) to season ending injuries back in November? And that they have played the last 2 games without their current best player in Jalen Adams. They had 7 scholarship players, 1 of which had they flu and barely played.

If for the next month, Cincy played without Caupin, Evans and Clark, how many games would they win? 1 at most? Tough to win in basketball when you lose all your players.

Surely, you are not of the opinion that Uconn bb talent is equal or less than cincy football. The next coach at Uconn will still have a top 25 roster. Cincy football roster, not so much. The next coach at Uconn is better off. Tuberville was in full crater mode when he took the position. I get your point about injuries though.

Kevin Ollie is a fine coach and good recruiter. He was dealt a tough hand this year. He took a team that finished 3rd in the conference and won a National Title with them. That was also the same year Cincy had their best year in the last 10 years or so and they lost in the second round so it's interesting a Cincy fan is starting this thread.

They lost in the 1st round that year.

Cincy is a consistent program, but not one that can get past the 1st weekend of the tournament.

Our best year of late would be 2011 when we were a 5 seed and finished second in the Big East tournament and made it to a sweet 16. It was unfortunate that we had to play uconn in 2012

Ollie is a good coach - he is playing with only half a hand this year.

So, not being a UConn fan, I was not aware of the full extent of the injuries plaguing the UConn program. That is a fair point.

Funny you would mention Ollie on the court so much. I noticed the same thing about Matt Rhule, the former Temple football coach. Seemed like he was on the field after EVERY play. It was uncanny. He'd be having this running conversation with officials, his QB and anyone else who could possibly tilt the scales a bit to his Owls. Drove me crazy. Get off the freakin' field.

Not to be a d*ck, but you start a thread about how awful Ollie is, but had no idea that they have lost 3 guys to season ending injuries, and their best player has missed the last two games?

I too get the point about UCONN injuries, but you still lost to Wagner and Northeastern, at home no less. You should be able to round up a good intramural team and take down those schools.

UConn has been really bad this year and some of that has to be on Ollie, but he's done enough and recruited well enough that it doesn't make sense to fire him at this point.

Just a few years ago, Ollie was hailed as an outstanding coach. Now there are calls for his ouster. The only variable is number and type of wins.

The only thing that matters is recent victories - especially in the NCAA Tourney.
