Actually they are but nothing will happen until next bowl sign in period and if the MB Bowl can change its date and increase pay out. Many ACC schools would love a trip down to Miami instead of other destinations their lower bowls have.
I am sure there are rooms available at the Atlanta Ritz, send down Mikey Aresco for a face to face with the ACC folks. He can also charge up a few steak dinners, we don't want him to starve.

Nothing will happen with this bowl until after the 2019 season but I can tell you that both cities of Miami and Miami Beach want it upgraded and there are ties with the ACC thru UM. As I said Miami Beach in December is a lot better destination than others the ACC has as lower bowls right now.

ACC headquarters are in Greensboro flash.

Honestly, the Miami Beach Bowl needs to move to Texas--preferably near Dallas. That's where our new HQ is likely to be in the future and it would make the perfect tie in to the city. It would be much easier to manage the bowl if our HQ is nearby.

Anywhere warm and with our schools close by is good to go. Tampa, Orlando, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans. They all work.

Miami is a great location for the coaches & players. Monday December 19th @ 1:30 PM Central is a stupid time for a bowl game.

Yeah the time slot in my opinion has to be literally the worst. It hasn't been Monday afternoon all 3 times. How does Boca get Tuesday at 8 pm slot. I hope they can lure the ACC. Maybe a full tie in her to replace part of their St Pete tie in.

Given that network programming peters out during the holidays and given that even a crappy bowl will draw well over a million viewers---I've always been amazed that no network other than ESPN has been interested in picking up a bowl game. We could have lots of better slots if the Miami Beach Bowl wasn't on ESPN where 40 other bowls are tying up broadcast windows. Sell the rights to someone else if 2:30 on a pre-Christmas Monday is the best slot ESPN will offer. This bowl has been drawing over a million viewers despite its abysmal time slot---surely someone would be interested now that the bowl has a track record.

I live in Texas, so don't take offense... but I don't see the MBB moving west. We do have more eastern teams, and those folks think Florida in winter for vacation. Miami having only one other bowl, and that brand new venue wanting a game, made it the perfect marriage.
Now getting a tie in for Dallas would be very smart. Pick up the HOD, or make that Austin bowl we were working on, and the NOLA bowl too. Your plan above is great. We need to make thinks easier for the western fans as well...

True. I only suggest Dallas because a bowl needs some staff presence to organize and train the volunteers who help it run--as well as helping the bowl gain traction in the community. Its easier if the bowl is the same place as the Conference HQ. The AAC HQ is expected to eventually be in Dallas once the current lease in Providence expires. There are more eastern teams--but we have virtually all eastern bowls when the balance of teams isn't really all that far from being 50-50 (Its 7 of 12 in the east right now).

That bowl was nixed because UT didn't want them using their stadium.

We need it so that the AAC champion is guaranteed a slot in an NY6 bowl. That would be the best thing right there.

He's has the tv ratings to work with... That should be sufficient enough.

I'd bet it's more likely that this fluid-ness will flow against us than for us. E.g., I could easily see the SEC dumping us in the Birmingham bowl for some P5 team.
All P5 are adopting policies to play more P5, not G5.
