The guy worked relentlessly, but that just couldn't overcome his lack of coaching/leadership abilities. Plus, I don't think many kids with their eye on the NBA could relate to some of his peculiarities.
No matter, he is gone.

It was literally all of the place.
-Appreciated his time in Memphis
-Owes the world to Calipari
-Cupboard was dry when he came. Begged Will Coleman and CJ Henry to stay. Struck gold with DJ
-Shaq Goodwin is a whack job, and Jason Smith is a D' for doing the Shaq exit interview
-Shut down talk about Frank Matriciano
-Majority of fanbase was happy with his performance

Yes this is somewhat NTR, but the interview has potential for good entertainment.
Please. Mods can we move this post?
Moving a post is hard. Being able to move post is not a birth right. when it comes to moving post it is about the jimmy and joe's not the X's and o's...............too much fun but I will stop now

If Shaq was a whack job why did he continue to play him and allow for all of his antics.

From the outside looking in Shaq did look like a bowl of fruit loops. I think he kept Shaq around because when he actually focused on basketball, he did very well.

Listened to it again... says Shaq was "different" and he had to be especially strict with Shaq to hold him accountable.
Btw... podcast is up on 92.9 website for anyone that wants to listen.

True about Shaq based on my conversations with him at FB games. But is this going to be a 100 page thread? Don't you guys ever get enough Pastner?

It is a little (a lot?) curious that JP would agree to do an interview like this. Give him credit for responding to the request, but really, what's the relevance from either perspective at this point?

Blah Blah- I never needed another coaches advice or input
He had it all and his refusal to admit that he could benefit from other peoples input doomed him. What a conceited horses ass.

From well known national CBB writer last spring in private message:
It's no secret: when SC had their opening after Kevin O'Neill, Josh name came up. Newish A.D. at Memphis completely panicked.
So Josh gets jacked to 2.6 million. And now they're on the hook for a fortune if they want to make a change.
And the most disappointing part is if Josh had a boss who could give him good direction, even force it on him, Josh could've been successful
He awkward needed a D coach and a hammer. Someone players would fear. I told him do many times. He's a bright guy with a dynamic personality

Great thoughts
There are multiple times where he was offered a chance to change- he refused
The guy had great potential, but his own conceit/mindset brought him down
