You think some of these wku fans would have learned from Marshall fans of the past. Guess not.

Why, we're the favorites to win the league in 2017!

RE: Two peat?
I don't understand why a small minority of (insert any school here)'s fans feel the need to act like assxoles when they are at the top of their respective conference, but it always happens without fail. I will not take the bait now, nor will I reciprocate when ODU is there. Hopefully I will gat a chance to prove that in the near future. That having been said...

Congratulations WKU fans! What a great season, and impressive team. The Hilltoppers surely have been the class of CUSA this year. I wish you luck in both the CCG, and in your bowl game. I know you will represent CUSA well. 04-cheers

*Note to OP. A "two peat" is generally referred to as a repeat.

It's all in good fun... you can't have competition if it's all glitter and fairies and everyone gets a participation award. Of course there's some obligatory smack talk. Just because WKU could tank next year, or the year after that, or whenever doesn't exactly mean the fans shouldn't enjoy the moment. If you take it light-hearted as it was meant, you can jab back and hope for the best next year. If you get your feelings hurt that easily, then... well I guess it's good you aren't playing in any competitive sports. Especially since we know your players can really dish it out.

I know I'm new to the forum and hello everybody, I read a post from 2015 from a Marshall fan on the smack talk board about how he just knew WKU wasn't even going bowling this year, and how the loss of Doughty would cripple us. All the preliminary reports also said WKU would be taking this year to rebuild. So it wasn't like we were expected to run the table again. We had to overcome obstacles to get back on top.

I just think if this board is comprised of one team going "Oh well, you did a good job" "no, you did a good job" "no, you did a better job", it would get boring pretty quick.

Lol I thought the same thing when I saw the thread title.

But in all seriousness, congrats to WKU. You guys set the tone early and dominated the league this year. While I would have loved to have had a shot at the title game, you guys are the better team, especially with how you manhandled us in our head-to-head. As an ODU fan I've grown accustomed to watching LT lose so I hope the trend continues in the CCG 04-cheers

Thanks! I'm glad someone from our division is rooting for us, I know I'd do the same if there was a different school up there. LA Tech seems to be the fan favorite for the CCG on here haha

Yeah. It's because a lot of you newbies are insufferable, inexperienced jugheads. Thank god there is only 15,000 of y'all to boo injured players. And don't forget y'all own Chief Longwind. That alone gains you guys some legitimate avoidance of the 'like' button.

Not everybody booed that day, nobody in my section did. It was poor taste by those that did and a lesson learned hopefully for a new generation of fans. It did look like those players was taking dives on purpose (they was not) but you just cant boo 18-24 year olds and especially if they could be hurt. I could since the frustration from the crowd that day.... Still no excuse

I didn't boo either.

I was just sad they raised such ******* down in Mississippi and had a pitiful excuse for a strength and conditioning coach.

I thought I was watching coach pitch girls softball so many were going down crying and couldn't get up!

Up until that game I had never seen 14 people go down in one quarter of play. I haven't seen it since either. The football gods were angry with USM football that day.

I stood up in my seats and raised my fist to the sky and shook it angrily at them.

I'm not saying it's right, but anyone that watches football knows that crowds booing because of perceived faking of injuries happens ALL. THE. TIME.

USM fans just keep harping on that because they want to make themselves feel better/superior in some way after getting beat. Happens to everyone.

RE: Repeat, Back to back titles?
S. Miss fans just need to move on because at this point anyone and everyone can see what your gripe really is....

it's the ass kicking that Western gave your team

I've never booed a kid playing a game. I even got into it was a few older Western fans sitting around me because I let them know their booing was trash. Even when they tried to explain they were not booing the player but the coaches for "telling" those kids to stay down. Even then I told them it was 100% wrong. Even if true (and never thought so) it was still wrong to boo.

When a kid goes down you sit there and when he gets up you clap for the effort they gave on that play. Hopefully for being OK. But for S. Miss fans to bring it up a year later it clearly shows one thing.

YOU ARE STILL NOT OVER THE HURT. No not the booing, but the beat down Western players laid on your team. I mean it was almost like grown men playing against some young kids the way that Western team just manhandled S. Miss. Not only because of the score but because of the beating those Western offensive players were giving S. Miss players.

Men against boys...

the way it looks it probably wont be the last time S. Miss feels this. Time to move on and forget this one because you have much larger problems as a S. Miss fan than what happen almost a year ago. I never seen a team get destroyed like that over a 15-20 minute span of time.
