Aresco doing work
With the G5 bowl system, making sure the two highest possible rated AAC teams meet in the championship game. Well done. The conference will not lose out on millions with Houston still getting the opportunity to get to the New Years bowl. Mikey Aresco earning his million+ per year. Can probably take a break from all his local radio interviews.

RE: Aresco doing work
5. Mike Aresco, the very competent commissioner of the American Athletic Conference, has petitioned for his league to be included as one of the Power 6 conferences. His league is clearly the best of the Group of Five leagues, which carries little sway with the public and voters in polls and award contests. You want to be in a power league or in a group? It’s all about branding and television revenue. “Anybody who wins our league can beat anybody else from a Power 5 conference,” he told us in the press box before Houston drubbed No. 5 Louisville. “People talk about Alabama. I’d list some of our teams that would take a crack at them. Maybe some of our people could be competitive with them.” Aresco is also pushing for playoff expansion to six teams. “To me, that makes more sense than eight. That way two teams get a bye. The health and safety of kids are so important to consider.”

Temple could not lose to ECU if they tried.

The ECU A.D. Jeff Compher is the smartest man alive.

Aresco has zero influence with the P5. However, he does get paid almost like a P5 commissioner so he has to wave his hands and make noise in the press to make us in the AAC forget he is grossly overpaid.

Grateful Aresco is out in the press, with the conference performance being at a high standard. Someone needs to be showing off these Massey ratings and RPI figures as well as our impressive OOC performances. Give that man a damn raise.

The interviews are the public part of his job! We aren't privy to the office work and the meetings.

The G5 was going to get that regardless. Aresco was just the most vocal about it. The only reason we go it was because they wanted to make us happy with power status being taken. Aresco should have fought that tooth an nail and not just settled.

So basically then as far as we know he hasn't done anything other than give interviews.

Not at all.. but you'll have to cull through the press releases and interviews yourself. Do your own homework to understand the initiatives he's been working on.

Aresco promised to keep the liberty and Russell athletic bowls and he failed. He promised to keep the pinstripe bowl and he failed. He promised we would stay at the table and he failed. He promised to create a new bowl for us and he failed. So far i have seen nothing but promises in interviews but no results.
