I typically watch every single CUSA game. It's going to be a busy 8 days for me.

First game of college basketball is Milligan vs MT. I will be there. It is our County Schools Day, first time ever, and a bunch of kids are expected up to 4000. Parents have discounted tickets available. I think we will have 9-10,000.

Don't want to do it for a bigger game (I think) because the schoolkids take up a ton of season ticket holder seats and they can only hold so many seats in the lower half of the bowl for the ticketholders (Rows 1-10 in eight sections, per the letter I read). For any other team it would be a bigger deal but for a non-D1 school it is fine since not all season tickets will be used especially at 11am. Royce Chadwick, the women's basketball coach from 2001-2012, started "Jam The Cam" in his second year. Jam The Cam is usually a one game event where every seat is a dollar. And its usually filled by local schools, school bands, Cub, Boy and Girl scout troops.

In 2003 or 2004 they done it for a visiting Kentucky team that would go on to win 27 games. One of their 4 losses that year was to Marshall. One of the players for Kentucky later said no one could hear their coach it was so loud in the Cam.

On Fri the 18th UTEP will face either defending national champ Villanova or Western Michigan, depending on who wins the Thursday games in the Charleston Classic. Saturday there will be no games and Sunday the games continue.

The ODU women's team does a game every year with the local elementary schools (the game is played at 11 am) in attendance. It sold out last year. The level of noise in the arena is really, really hard to imagine. Every timeout there is some sort of dance or chant off. It's a pretty neat sight to see, you just have to remember ear plugs.

THis is basketball version for line of sands right?

The Morehead games always scares me. Last year in the 2nd game at Morehead they beat our heads in 85-61 of course that was way before Elmore was cleared to play. But Morehead is always usually well coached and they usually have decent players.

I do see this being a totally different game this year, and hopefully a totally different outcome.

JMU is decent (picked 4th in preseason in their conference) and we're still a young team playing our first road game of the year. They should be favored by a point or two but it could be a close game. I'd be ecstatic with a win but am not expecting it necessarily.

Was not my intention. We just always had a weekly list of games last year. If it is I sure as heck don't know that I have the time or patience to do it every week.

The Richmond arena for us is a lot like UAB. For some reason, we can never play a decent game there. Maybe it's the smell of Geritol and Depends. Who knows?

We own them at our place, but usually lose in Richmond, and usually in blowout fashion, regardless of how good the two teams actually are.

It's been this way with the MT women as well for several years. Here is highlights from a couple of seasons ago, Lady Raiders stomped Clemson 69-28.
