Pretty sure we need to sticky that at the top of every page of the football recruiting threads.

That's not true at all. If Cincinnati was a premiere program, local kids would stay home. Ohio State has no problem racking up kids from Ohio in both football and basketball.

No ****! They're coming off multiple rose bowls and a national championship. How many prospects on planet earth are going to turn that offer down? Their qb is from ******* Texas. How close to Columbus is that?

Saying "if Cincinnati was Ohio State blah blah" is so disconnected from reality, it's like you don't see the hundred sum odd teams who aren't OSU.
Do you think the other Ohio Universities have nothing but local kids? Do you think the average D1 School has nothing but local talent? No. They send recruiters all over the place. The fact that there are presumably Ohio kids who still don't go to OSU even when offered even further proves the point. Kids don't care about staying home. They care about the best experience they can get out of college and the potential of a career afterwards. Be that in sport or elsewhere.

This isn't the 1950s. Beaver Cleaver is 68 years old. Jesus...

Twitter comment on the secret scrimmage:

Indiana State outmatched in scrimmage against Cincinnati. Mick Cronin has his guys playing disciplined tough basketball.

And from Jeff Goodman:
Cincinnati took care of Indiana State. Bearcats rested Jacob Evans (bruised foot). Had balance. Justin Jenifer and Clark played well.

This foot thing for Evans could be worrisome.

Typically dont make it down for the preseason exhibitions but super pumped about this team I may have to catch the bellarmine game wednesday

Info on Evans from bearcats.com

Sophomore swing man Jacob Evans has been dealing with a foot injury that kept him out of the scrimmage. There’s a chance he could play Wednesday, but based on what Cronin said it’s not very likely. Dr. Angelo Colosimo, UC’s team orthopedist, was expected to examine Evans on Tuesday, according to Cronin. If Evans doesn’t play, sophomore Justin Jenifer will likely start at point guard, with Caupain moving from the point to the wing. Jenifer made five of seven shots in the scrimmage against Indiana State.

“I’m being extremely cautious with Jacob,” Cronin said. “You can’t win any games in October. You can lose them though.”

I saw someone tweet something that said they would play at Cintas, and they later rescinded that and said it was not accurate.

We made a pretty impressive list. What's also impressive is how we've only managed 1 sweet 16 appearance compared to the other teams on the list. Oh well...at least we continue to make the list.

No idea, is this good? Thought we'd do icily recruiting and don't know if this is a good haul or not.

Based on the videos I've watched, I do think these guys are a little better than their rankings. But I wouldn't call this a stud class. This class is right there with what Micks been recruiting for the last 5 years .... players good enough to compete in the AAC, garner an NCAA tourney bid, and have a chance to win a game in the tournament.

Without something dramatic (conference change, Mick hiring an O-Coordinator) or lucky (big upset in UC's bracket in the tourney) happening I don't see UC basketball being any different as long as Mick is the coach.
