Nope- next week is an exhibition. Unless that's what SGJR meant. Some teams have had actual scrimmages against other schools- not sure if we had one Sat or not. I know there was no FOOTBALL game!03-banghead We play Ohio Dominican or something next Sat at 2:30 after the women's noon exhibition.

There was an actual closed, super-secret scrimmage last Saturday morning that nobody will/can talk about. For me, a self-diagnosed basketball junkie, I don't concern myself too much to who we played but how we played.

Although all the silence, the inconspicuous charter bus, and the unusually early start time surrounding this "non event" makes me even more suspicious. Was it Ferris State or was it Michigan State, or how about Notre Dame College or University of Notre Dame?

I suppose we'll never know.

All but guaranteed it was a D1 school. Schools can have a total of 2 exhibitions games/scrimmages. Scrimmages are vs. D1 schools and closed to the public. Exhibition games are open to the public, but cannot be against D1 schools.

Quote:The games, which replace typical exhibitions against Division II schools, are closed to the public and the media. The only people allowed in the gym under NCAA rules are the players, coaches, officials and essential personnel, such as game-clock operators.

In fact, the scrimmages aren't supposed to be publicized. Scores and stats are only kept by a school's officials for their own use, and rarely does word of what happened slip out.
