Yes they are, but I wouldn't say that just because of this game. Didn't they only beat Tulane 21-14?
Less worried about the Tulane comparison and more about the triple option - that shredded us last year.
Ah. That's understandable then. I agree, but they lost a lot of talent from last season (The again so did we). I think it will be a close one that could go either way. Our defense just needs to stay very disciplined.

I think Avery will find a way to play in NFL. Both are good though.

Miller has the potential too, he's just had a problem getting down the field lately because the O Line can't block long enough for the play to develop

If our O was up to snuff, I would feel that we could score on Navy. Heck, UConn had them beat. Our D is as improved as I thought but the option will give our guys trouble mentally. It will be an upset if Tigers beat Navy.

A positive from tonight is that Memphis D got some practice against a triple option offense... even if it was run from a Spread set and not the Flexbone like Navy runs. Should be interesting, its all about assignments, hopefully the D can be patient.
Luckily they beat Houston, so Memphis should know to take them seriously.

Lol. These endings are growing pains for Norvell. In the larger context of my fandom we're sitting pretty having to experience these as growing pains. Do I wish we could freaking cover? Yea...but at least we are 5-1. And honestly I wouldn't put 100% of the blame on Norvell for us not covering tonight.

I couldn't care less about whether we cover. I dont really see why it matters, unless you've bet on the game. Having said that, I wish we'd scored on our last drive and won 31-7 just cuz that looks a lot better than 24-14.

I agree. A score like that might get you votes but 24-14 just doesn't look as good

Ugly ugly game tonight. Worst we've looked in a couple of years. Then I remember what our football games were like not even 5 years ago and I tell myself to STFU and enjoy what we have now.

BTW, I don't generally comment on our band but they were awesome during the game & half time on the field. Tulane fans just apathetic even though their team much improved.
