This is Dawgarse's favorite video. La Tech has refused to play us in football ever since. About to be the same story in Basketball as well. They had some dude named Speedy. He was Freemaned, like so many others before him.
Refused to play? We dont decide that. Still havent even played FAU or Marshall in the regular season. Would like to host one next year.

I am just joking around. Understand how the schedule works. Just nice to be in the mix in October, for a change. Good luck vs. Umass.

Realized that mightve been a joke. Hard to tell sometimes. Maybe ODU can come to Ruston next year as well! Theres still a lot of matchups that havent been made in the current CUSA. Thanks, I hope we play well on the road! We've played well on the road and just havent been able to keep the lead. Maybe this will be the one.

I think ODU beat LaTech on Nov 22 of 2014 is what i remember the last.

Funny thing is, that #6 slot can grow a program significantly. You've just got to claw your way to 6 wins. ODU has 4 wins and still to play UTEP, FAU, and FIU. UTEP, at 1-4 might only need Aaron Jones to win its next 7 games.
So, basically, it again falls to us to keep ODU out of a bowl game?

Classic Smitty ... classic. They also had the guy that followed the MVP winning Speedy. A young fellow named Hamilton that was also awarded the MVP. He too was Freemaned. In the immediate future the Bulldog player of choice will most likely end up being Stithed (by one, or the other, or both).

Nah, beating La Tech was no more exciting to us than our annual MEAC FCS bloodbath game against Norfolk State or Hampton or beating lower level FCS squads like Albany or Campbell. But, of course, their fans traveled better, smelled better, behaved better, and we did not require circus animal-level disinfectants and flea-repellents to ensure Foreman Field remained untainted by their unique aroma and lack of hygiene.

Nooooo.......the win over LA Tech was your SUPER BOWL! There's literally never been a bigger win in ODU history than that.

Naw, popped a lot of cherries in our short football existence. All are memorable for certain reasons, and I can recollect vaguely on that evening's spoils tasting like crawfish. Not good crawfish, but sufficient to sustain us for another week.

It's not like they are still posting about it a couple of years later HD
Please look back at the thread and understand I was prodding a particular USM fan for his displeasure of our current conference alignment. It was at that point a La Tech fan decided to enter the conversation. It is only neighborly to engage in a conversation if a fellow conference fan wants to discuss football. If you are looking for someone to chastise, have your fanbase look in the mirror.

Not really, we just like crawfish, even if you have to ship it into your I-20 truckstop of a town.. However, greater chance of it being fresh than other locales. Maybe one day when we can switch you guys out with University of Louisiana, we can improve the quality of the seafood your state provides and the football and basketball competition in CUSA. One can only dream.
