? Not a fan of those uniforms.. Nice helmet, but they could've done so much better. I hope these are just temporary and something they put together for the teams scrimmage games.

As Oregon, Maryland and other colorfully uniformed teams have proven, you can look great while losing games and not make fans happy. Plain uniforms on winners are still popular. I just am eager to see our team on the field next September, no matter what the design of the uniform. Yes, i like the "big fiery dragon" helmet.

Hopefully we keep all 5-6 mens basketball unis. I like to remember Haase for that.

Is there a similar agreement for AD's that exist with Miss Universe winners?

That's a substantial agreement for UAB. Drew mentioned in the comments that he thinks it's the largest in CUSA. Forbes published the largest 65 apparel contracts in July and number 65 was $1.3M. No G5 schools were in the top 65 so we probably have one of the larger deals in G5 now.

The BBJ article lists some additional incentive details:

UAB's outfitter contract also stipulates bonuses linked to post-season tournament eligibility and performance. A first or second round NCAA post-season tournament appearance by either basketball team would net UAB $5,000 or $15,000, respectively.

Under Armour would pay out $25,000 for a Sweet 16 appearance, and the performance bonus would double for every round after that.

A non-College Football Playoff bowl game appearance would net UAB $5,000, while a CFP bowl game appearance would bring in $25,000.

For sports other than football and basketball, NCAA post-season tournament appearances are allotted $1,500, tournament championships $2,500, and conference Coach of the Year $2,500.

How much of this is a result of Ingram's relationship with the Under Armour guy and how much of it is a "hey it's good for UAB" part?

Great contract for UAB... at top of CUSA but not top of G5. Few AAC teams I found...

I don't post here much, I doubt many of y'all even know who I am, but I used to work in the football department, and this contract is a majorly good get, especially compared not only to what Nike and adidas offered, but what they provided historically in our previous contracts.

You hater's need to stop talking bad about Ingram. Just another example of him doing his job and doing it well.

With that said, the 2014 unis should be collectables. I want a Jersey, helmet and pants. Hook me up. lol

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but it shouldn't be. This deal is 5x better than the previous Nike deal. Good job by UAB admin.

Totally agree. In light of this news, some folks need to take a good hard look at what they were saying about Ingram in relation to the Big 12 article. He is clearly working on things that can actually improve UAB athletics instead of shooting for pipe dreams.

So you're saying he can't do both? You're saying a move up from C-USA, even the AAC, can't improve UAB's athletics.
Are you saying he can't work on more than one project at a time? That's probably why he's finally stopped talking about that darn track every time someone brings up football.

This thread isn't about the AAC. It's about outrage that they didn't try to get us into the Big 12. I say they should be knocking on the SEC's door as long as you are shooting for the big leagues.
