Why is this game at noon?

I know a lot of people hate noon kickoffs (and I understand why), but it's nice getting home well before midnight for a change.

TV- it is on ASN and ESPN3.

If a game is not going to be on television at all (no ESPN or even ASN, just ESPN3), then I think schools should set kickoff for about 1:30 or 2:00. I think that was the time non-televised games would air back in the 80's & before, when even powerhouse programs were only on TV a few times/year.

12:00 requires out-of-town visitors to stay the night before or get up extremely early. 3:30 makes for dark driving at night, which can be bad for northern & high elevation schools in November due to freezing temperatures & black ice. 1:30 is about perfect, except for TV purposes.

How often is black ice a problem in November on any given weekend?

(Hint: It's not a real issue)

Any way up or down the mountain is going to be salted and sanded in the event of winter weather and once you are around 20 minutes outside of Boone or Blowing Rock you are going to be below whatever winter mess is happening.

I can think of one exception in 2007, but otherwise I'd agree.

Think the JMU playoff game might have been at noon as well. Still, not too many instances supporting a good showing.

According to our AD Uncle Karl asked us to.

I overall have liked the move to FBS, but as a result of getting more TV coverage, the days of having 3:30 games every home game are likely over. Might want to start perfecting your breakfast burrito recipe.

It'll be chicken & waffles at this tailgate. An homage to our friends from Hot-lanta.

Makes no sense to have this so early IMO. Thankful our AD does all evening games except the last one in December when it's dark outside at 5:30pm.

So I just thought of this; all 5 of App's games to this point have been televised. ESPN SECTV: App@UTk, ESPN - Miami @ App, ASN - App @ Akron, ODU @ App and now GSU @ App. I'm not sure what ASN means for exposure but to have five of five games on cable is saying marketzzzzz to me.

I'm sure the start time will hold a lot of the Panther fans from heading up the mountain this year........wait a second.
