OK OK...

This and the Brian Kelly thread are both just excessive "Fire Tuberville" threads in disguise.

I'll allow these two to stick, for sake of argument, but this had better be the last one to spawn up.

This is not me calling for Tuberville's head more just hoping to go for 10-2 every year instead of 8-4

Miles is just about done in terms of his working life... He'll probably take a cushy analyst deal on CBS or ESPN.

So, to take the question seriously: No.

Set aside the fact that we probably can't afford him and he'll probably find another P5 home, doesn't it seem like he underachieved at LSU? it just feels like that to me.

relative to recruiting rankings and LSU players in the NFL during his tenure .... underachieving for sure. Saban at Alabama has been a major thorn in his side.

LOL - that characterization was exactly how I saw it. Home now - and after a long drive where my only sports happiness was KC beating the Tigers. Nothing has changed about my opinion of the sad direction of UC football.

RE: Hire Les MIles?
No. Why? He needs a year off to recharge as most coaches do after being canned. In all reality, he would not come to the American Conference if he decides to ever coach again. C'mon man. To put it this way, UC is the nerdy guy who hopes to land Farrah Fawcett. Ain't happening.

RE: Hire Les MIles?
A school like UC needs a dynamic coach. If your answer to the question "Is Les Miles dynamic?" is yes, then I say yes. I say no though, which gives you my answer as to whether we should ever go after him. I am sure there are a handful of coaches that either have a dynamic personality, run a dynamic offense, can recruit or all three, and would be cheaper than Les Miles. TT will be around the rest of the year. Lets see what he and his new OC and reconfigured Defensive staff can do the rest of the year. The meat of the schedule begins this week. He doesn't fit the dynamic question but his new staff might. I hope we aren't disappointed the rest of the season where we are looking for someone else to be hired.

RE: Hire Les MIles?
We need a coach who is kicking ass to get generational riches at his next job and who will kick any coach or player off of the sideline that won't run through a wall to get him there. That is what made the last 3 coaches successful here. The inverse is also what holds this staff back now

I'm sure the back channel Tom Herman/LSU negotiations are well under way.

My guess is that is why they fired Miles quickly.

It's the smart play if you know you are going to make a change. Waiting is silly. Puts you behind the 8 ball and let's your donors and fanbase steep in bile. If it's time to part ways, part ways immediately. Nothing to be gained by waiting until the season ends.

Nope they fired him now to avoid a repeat of last year where he turned things around and saved his job. The big money boosters got their way in the end though. Classy way to part ways 4 games in to a season with a coach that brought you a national title.

RE: Hire Les MIles?
I would say no to Les Miles. It would be another retirement kinda job, similar to what we did with Tuberville.

Brian Kelly would at least have 10 years or so at Cincinnati if he did choose to get back.

I see the threads more as a "Can we Dream" Kinda threads.

Yep, if you know you're gonna sh!t can a coach, do like Florida did with Zook. They moved to the head of the line and reeled Urban Meyer in before ND had a chance.

In that case, let's go after Saban.

We would never get Les Miles and honestly, not sure I'd want him.
