RE: WKU QB throws for 517 yds and 3 TDs
either Rice defense is really bad, or WKU has another stud QB on their hands.

Is that Doughty's latest incarnation? because the current one is struggling to make an impression at Miami Dolphins...

Only the 3rd game in WKU history with a QB with over 500 passing yards. White tonight and Doughty twice last year.

Much of our QB's success is a direct result of a head coach that was a pro QB himself. The system he uses just works

This. And add in all thé supporting cast that returned from last season, it should be no surprise to see WKY light up CUSA défenses.Brohm is an offensive wiz.

Forgot to add, but WKU also just tied the USM record for most consecutive CUSA conference wins tonight.

WKU QB throws for 517 yds and 3 TDs
Having watched a few highlights from last night's game, it's impressive how White is able to stay accurate with the pass when pressured by the defense. He does not appear to get rattled by being hit after a pass which will happen at Alabama. Hoping RB Ferby is ok, since he left during the first half

He stood tall in there all night. Took a big lick early. Probably what he needed. Great win, #1!

RE: WKU QB throws for 517 yds and 3 TDs
I have a question for Rice fans. I didn't see the game, but did your guys just not even try?

I mean the yards are one thing. Obviously, Brohm has developed a damn good system, so you can understand they are going to put up yards regardless. But I'm trying to figure out how you allow a guy who a) barely has a 50% career completion percentage and b) has completed 60% or better of his passes only one time in 17 previous games to complete 80% of his passes in his first game in a new offense.

It's almost like you had to not even try.

Is the Rice secondary wearing lead boots or are the WKU receivers that fast?
They were behind the Rice secondary all night long.
I suspect it is neither one. It was probably coaching. Six pass plays over 25yds? That's coaching.

Which do you think makes him a better coach?

His NFL 252 career passing yards, 0 TDs and 5 INTs, passer rating of 26...

Or

His CFL 907 yards, 0 TDs and 5 INTs, passer rating of 61?

Some guys just know how to coach offense. I've seen it over and over in this conference with Briles, Sumlin, Fedora, Monken, and Brohm. We will probably see it with Tony Franklin this year also. Those coaches know how to get the ball to their playmakers in space and can design offenses that take a QB that is a little above average and put up video game numbers in CUSA. I'm interested to see if the new UNT coach is able to do similar things.
