So your games last year at SMU, UConn, and UCF never really happened?

They are in your conference and so is Tulane and Tulsa. In 2014 the AAC as a conference was short of your mark.

Essentially you're helping me make my point about ECU fans, turn your noses up at schools during football and then make excuses during basketball.

Dude, ECU averaged more than UNC Charlotte in basketball attendance last year. What point are you trying to make? http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/m_basketba...d/2015.pdf

Soft or crispy is fine. Hard as a damn brick is not and that's all I've ever had the few times I've been to Parkers.

That you're fans have been saying "what-if we won" for years in basketball and it has never happened. Enjoy a few more years of Lebo 04-bow

So you're saying nothing essentially?

Great, thanks, head on back over to the beIN board then.

But, I'll just note that you will probably be the only person in my whole life I'll ever encounter that tries to call Raleigh a part of Eastern NC.

The eastern district of North Carolina according to the United States Court system is Raleigh eastward. Geographically, it is in the eastern half of the state.

http://www.nced.uscourts.gov/

Again, that's fine. Go with it -- if you think that the best way to judge the state's regions is by the court districts, so be it. I just find it interesting.

In my opinion, "Eastern North Carolina" is the Inner Banks Counties and the Crystal Coast. Then you've got the "Outer Banks," and the greater Wilmington area is what many call "Southeastern North Carolina."

Most people I've come in contact with call Raleigh "The Triangle." In fact, in conversation many people talk about ENC in the context of "east of Raleigh," or "east of I-95."

To each their own, though. I'd never consider John Wall an Eastern North Carolina basketball product like I would Stack, Maxwell, or Ingram though.

Growing up here in the Triangle, "eastern NC" was I-95 and east. While the people in Raleigh do see themselves as their own "region" called the Triangle (Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill), IMO the city of Raleigh and surrounding suburbs share more in common with eastern NC than they do with the rest of the piedmont region. Durham and Chapel Hill have their own distinct flavor that is different...not sure how to describe it, other than different. Durham and Chapel Hill are WAY more like Greensboro and Winston-Salem. Totally different feel when you leave Durham County and head into Wake County. With sports, Raleigh and suburbs all play with the eastern half of the state. The line is usually drawn through Durham. Raleigh sits on the Fall Line (the transition between coastal plain and piedmont). Being so close to the coastal plain is evident in the culture as you head outside of the urban areas. You just don't see that in the piedmont cities (even though Raleigh is considered a piedmont city).

Mountain, Piedmont, Eastern- Isn't that how NC is divided?

That is close. Mountains, Piedmont, Coastal Plain (or Inner Coastal Plain), Tidewater (or Outer Coastal Plain)

The Tidewater extends to where the rivers and streams stop rising and falling with the tides. Coastal Plain extends from the end of the Tidewater to the first falls (Fall Line) that occur on the rivers. Piedmont goes from the Fall Line through the foothills. Mountains go from the foothills to the Tennessee border.

At least that is how I've taught it to the 8th graders for the last 30 years. None of these regions have absolute lines. The Tidewater extends further westward in some areas than in others and it is a arbitrary line going from one river or steam to the next. The same is true for the Fall Line. You are basically playing connect the dots from one river to the next and it is much further westward into the Sandhills in the south.

Typically in magazines and talking to people there are three. Eastern (Coastal Plain) East of I-95, Piedmont (Central) Triangle West to Charlotte and Triad, and Weatern (Mountain) anything west of Winston or Charlotte Area.

I'm from Virginia Beach. Went to Louisburg JC for a while. That's east of Raleigh by a bit and even that's not considered eastern NC. The joke with us was you could tell you were in eastern NC by all the shacks and dirt poor farmers.05-stirthepot

That's such an f'ing joke dude. I'm sure all the millionaires driving yachts around New Bern and Wilmington and Beaufort are "dirt poor farmers".

First of all you don't "drive " a boat, you sail one. Secondly all those boats moored on the coast belong to the rich folks from the triangle.

No, if it is a motorized boat, you drive the boat. Secondly, those yachts belong to the millionaires that live in the houses in New Bern, Beaufort, and Wilmington. You're a true idiot.

Not in new Bern and beaufort the boats here are local. The triangle folks are in the obx and Wilmington. Old money here.

Got to give credit where it's due now. All the commits are enrolled including Wilkins and Williams. Jabari Craig just enrolled and will be eligible this season. A lot of good offers coming out of high school and rated as the #1 JUCO big man in the country and #12 overall JUCO player. Also the big man transfer from Wake Forest will be eligible.

Lebo and his staff put a lot of effort in to make this recruiting class happen and at least on paper, it appears to be a dang good one.

For someone going to Louisburg college to make fun of other people down on their luck is beyond duplicitous. Second, Va Beach is not exactly the playground for the rich and famous. Third, yes the poverty in parts of Eastern North Carolina is real. But making fun of farmers and those in poverty tells me everything I need to know about who you are.

Goes to college in a town of 3,300 and calls Eastern NC dirt poor farmers in shacks?

He just needs to get on his center console and sail away....

Sure you used the right word here?

Saying this would make you disingenuous ( probably the word you meant to use), since you are one of the more insulting people on these boards.

A$$wipe. I grew up on the beach, Dad had a boat. Never ever did we say "let's go sail the boat". You grab the wheel and drive the boat. GTFOH

I live in Wilmington (Wrightsville Beach), and very few people actually sail. Come meet me at Dockside or Bluewater and wait for a sailboat...it will be a while.
