UConn President Says No Plans To Lobby Big 12
STORRS — UConn President Susan Herbst said Monday that she will not join other schools lobbying to join the Big 12 athletic conference.

"The Big 12 just has to take their time, make their decisions and they will,'' Herbst said during an interview in her Storrs Office Monday. "And whatever happens, we continue to try to win and to make sure our student athletes are having a great experience, academically and socially."

----

While others give lip service to conference unity, UConn walks the walk. I salute UConn and it's President. This business of conference jumping at least at UConn seems to have hit its limits. The AAC is lucky to have a school like UConn as it's bedrock. Others may leave, but stability starts with unity, and I'm sure that Tulsa, ECU, Temple, Navy appreciate what the UConn President has said.

Lol ... yeah, UConn wants to stay in the AAC ... they'd leave quicker than a guy on fire would jump in a pool.

Maybe this is the "face saving" start of the post-expansion-no-invite scenario that could be unfolding.

Is this a sign UConn is heading to ACC? No reason to beg B12.

Uh, no. That is not what she meant at all, but keep trolling along.

Unfortunately for you, almost certainly not. I just don't think the ACC is in the cards for you. There's no room at the inn.

I disagree. I can see the other 4 conferences going to 18 and the 5 th conference being the American with the leftovers of the 12 pulled to the big 4. UCONN being one of the ACC. Aresco pulls off American as the 5 conference in the power 5. Also the power 5 structure is already the legislated structure. American with get 10-15 million per team on contract with ESPN.

Maybe the large number of criminals and misfits from Rutgers will lead to the so-called college getting tossed out of the B10 -- despite all of those cable boxes in the Garden State.

RE: UConn President says no plans to lobby the Big 12
UConn needs ND to become a football member to have a shot at being invited to the ACC and that's not happening. The Big 12 is not a fit. The B1G has no interest. Not sure where that leaves UConn other than to hang on for dear life for as long as possible and wait for potential changes to the landscape which could come as soon as 6 - 10 years at the earliest. However the truth is nobody really knows what the future brings. It is what it is.

According to the Administrator of the UConn fan board around 9:00 pm, that is what it is.

I'm not going to make another post, but it is huge news if UConn has been eliminated. That leaves Cincy, Memphis, Houston and BYU battling for the two spots.

You may hate UCONN more than GreenWave16 hated S Miss. That's a lot of hate bro.
Cheers!

In related news, UConn will not lobby for SEC admission either.

Even if we did join they would not be our pick . We would definitely get a say in who would come.

Ok it's their only shot. Regardless we all know ND has no reason in today's environment to become a full time football member

We ain't joining I just want to burst that bubble of UConn joining with if we did. They are screwed if the Big 12 doesn't take them. To bad also they don't deserve it.
