This was in my hometown so i watched it while i was at work. He was stating that if Clinton won the election and got to pick the supreme court justices the 2nd amendment would be dead and there is nothing anyone could do about it. He then said that there might be something the 2nd amendment folks could do about it, obviously making a play on how people with guns could stand up for themselves if someone tried to take away their gun.

Absolutely in no way shape or form did he call for someone to assassinate Clinton. To suggest otherwise is fundatmentally dishonest.

This is a huge gaffe. And unless DJT walks it back quickly, it has the potential to be a Khan style gaffe. Seriously, even if joking, you don't dog whistle for your supporters to shoot her or her nominees for Supreme Court.

I stand by my comments. There is no reason to invoke "The Second Amendment" as a way to stop a President from exercising his/her constitutional duties.

So...even if we follow your explanation to it's "logical" conclusion. If a properly elected president and a properly selected supreme court properly repeals the second amendment, your saying it's okay for citizens to fight back with weapons?

Now of course, that's never going to happen because the Supreme Court can't repeal the second amendment and a repeal would never pass the public vote anyway...but it's no better. It's still a dog whistle for those with guns to do something to make sure it never does happen.

That is not what he was saying and you know it.

He was referencing defending your 2nd amendment rights.

You can disagree that the 2nd amendment rights are in danger if Clinton wins no problem

BUT

To suggest that one presidential candidate called for the assassination of another is fundamentally dishonest and is why people do not trust our country's media.
