I'm sure there are non-FCA affiliated coaches at that school. LOL.

I am sure you can provide concrete evidence that all coaches at that school are FCA affiliated... 07-coffee3

Dude, read the article. http://highschoolsports.al.com/news/arti...-football/

I did, where does it say that every coach in Kennedy's school is FCA affiliated? 07-coffee3

You miss the point.

I've never met a non-FCA affiliated assistant or head football coach in high school in Alabama. Nary a one.

Basically, my starting point is that if the head guy is FCA, then I'll bet you that every single person in his reporting group is too.

Hmmm... I think he wins this one. You can't deny him his prayer because it MIGHT coerce a kid. You have to show it did.

I must be missing something, but it seems as Tom thinks membership in FCA is mandatory to play sports in high school.

Having served on several high school coaching staffs in multiple sports I'll take that bet. Name your terms.

I hope the coach wins the lawsuit. His right to pray on the football field did not end once he became a coach.

Read the article I linked to. The coaches are putting ministry ahead of the team. In the public schools. And that is the FCA model.

And good luck getting into HS coaching in some parts if you rightly don't allow outside fundy groups special access to cram evangelical religion down the players throats using the implied authority of the coaches.

Is this a recent phenomenon running rampant across the nation's high schools these days? I remember FCA back in high school, lots of kids were members but never did religion come up during practices/games other than a simple prayer every now and then and there was never any evangelizing, etc. Unless things have done a 180 this seems to be nothing more than ANOTHER example of folks making mountains out of molehills, etc.

I did read it. Must have missed where the coach said he put "ministry ahead of of the team". Once again, you interpretation does not line up with fact.

I agree and in this case it makes no sense. Just some folks looking to be offended I guess.

Maybe in Virginia, coaches don't try to steer players to the FCA. Not my experience in Alabama.

I wouldn't know about Virginia. Doesn't matter though. Your experiences are not the final authority on what happens all around the country.
