I said RBs. Craft is a slot receiver and definitely not a "hit you" kind of player.

Statistics say otherwise:

Career carries- 186
Career yards- 801
Avg yards/carry- 4.3
13 rushing touchdowns

38 carries for 170 yards vs. Cincinnati in 2014

On pace to be a 1,000 yard rusher (will be one of only 30 in school history).

I like Sam, but he's not an every down back. He wouldn't be able to hold up toting the ball that many times/game. The good news is we have other solid RBs and don't need him to rush 38 times. I think with Sam you gotta try to get him into open space regardless of whether he's running or catching the ball. How successful he is really depends on how he stacks up against teammates with similar skillsets.

Cincinnati has one of the worst rush defenses in the conference for the last two years. Not to mention Craft played an absolutely terrible game against Cincy last year (dude self destructed the entire first half)

Sam gets a lot of his touches/runs/yards on the outside.

We weren't as good last year when he was banged up though.

I said that all of last season. Nelson and Maulette flat out stunk. We really couldn't have done worse putting TigersCane and Mimi out there as cover corners. We had so much depth on offense, why not try Craft and another athlete at DB?

Yep. Nobody feared the jet sweep after he got hurt. Mose was forced into that role and wasn't as good. IMO Cooper is still the biggest loss. And I still worry about Dorceus knee and him being able to carry the whole load.

Really sucks. That's two really good running backs gone from that crowded backfield. Jam was one of my favorite players.

The fact that a 5+ yds per carry RB is slotted for third string gives me some confidence in our running game.

Not necessarily true. Different coaches have different styles and maybe Henderson's running style didn't fit well into Novell's new offense. When Henderson did get the ball last year he looked like the best running back in my opinion. He definitely would see the field at Auburn.

I don't think Henderson would stay healthy with many carries...He just runs so hard...Remember Marion Barber who used to run like a Maniac but his career was VERY short. Henderson would either have to learn when to lay down or he would get hurt eventually.
