RE: Henderson leaving the football program
The timing of the transfer leads me to believe he either didn't like the scheme we were running or his role/position on the depth chart. It is a good story about wanting to be closer to his baby but it seems more likely he didn't want to be 3rd string.

You transfer right before the school years starts to ensure you can transfer get your redshirt and still play next year.

Did he ever get eligible ?

Haven't heard. I hope so. With Dorceus' bad knees, we need some talent on the depth chart

When Cooper left folks were dismissing the idea that it might be nice having an extra RB or two just in case.

Wasn't even the best Henderson on the team.

Wish him well, can't blame anyone for wanting to be closer to family.

We'll be fine - DD, SC, and DH.

Staff loves DH...

Hate to lose any experienced back when we have an inexperienced QB

Birmingham is 3.5 hours away so I can't see UAB being an option if his reasoning is being closer to family. But he did commit to UAB out of HS ...so maybe? Depends on the situation.

Troy is about an hour away. That makes sense. Recruited out of HS...

I absolutely agree. This happens a lot where guys transfer for "personal reasons", but it's more so about not being happy with their role on the team.

I really liked J Henderson and wish him the best. It's a loss for the Tigers.

Classes are out and he is back home with his kid and decides he does not want to leave him behind

Ok...It could be true...But I bet if he was #1 on the depth chart he would be here in the fall. He is leaving that baby either way if he plays football anywhere. At least until almost December.

The statement that Henderson will probably be #3 on the depth chart was probably the deciding factor. A lot of these "personal" transfers don't tell the story.

But I did enjoy watching him play last year and will miss him. Can't wait to see the new RB's.

He didn't like his spot on the depth chart. Pure and simple.

Great talent good kid. Second time he has left. A bit too sensitive. Dorceous, Craft, Pollard and Henderson is still a stable.

Surprised he'd be slotted for the third string, averaging 5+ yes per carry.

Troy most logical. Not far from home. Good kid wish him well. Little bit on small side with big heart
