ACC Expansion it's Coming.
What the ACC should do:
Expand to 20 schools. Four division of five schools.
Notre Dame Division
Carolina Division
North Division
South Division

Notre Dame
Boston College
Syracuse
Pitt
Navy* (Georgetown)

Virginia
Virginia Tech
West Virginia
Cincinnati
Louisville

North Carolina
NC State
Wake Forest
Duke
Clemson

Georgia Tech
Florida State
Miami
UCF
UAB!!!!!

I think they all speak for themselves except for UAB so let me explain.
UAB is one of the better public schools in the state of Alabama. With its smaller enrollment then most public schools it puts it on the same page as GT, UVA, UNC, UofL, and Clemson. Also UAB brings good basketball in a SEC state. The heart of SEC country in Birmingham Alabama. Puts the ACC in several SEC states and allows Flordia State and Georgia Tech games in Alabama a state that they recruit heavily. It also allows the fans of those teams to have another close conference member instead of a bunch of Yankee teams.

UAB has an excellent basketball history that fits within the ACC. Plus gets it into a large southern city and a SEC state.

What's the big deal? This is only the umpteenth thread on conference expansion and it wasn't the first nor will it be the last one. Granted, the subject does get discussed a bit ad nauseam but this board is titled College Sports and Conference Realignment.

I like it! However, instead of Navy/Georgetown, why not Fordham to get into the New York City market?

UCONN would be a fit for the ACC.

RE: ACC Expansion it's Coming.
My whole point of this was for the ACC to keep taking shots at SEC country instead of the SEC taking ACC schools. Louisville was a great pick up for the ACC but wasn't even on their radar until Maryland left now it is the best school they have gotten besides ND and guess what the share a state with a SEC school. Some of the best programs in the ACC are in SEC shared states in Clemson, GT, and FSU. I think another school like UAB even though a project can grow and become a Power house. Might take some rebranding like going by Birmingham instead of UAB.

Shush you! You can't "+" or "-" anyone without a note from UNC or you'll suffer further NCAA Penalties.

P.S. It's in the fine print.

No thanks. We already declined their invitation twice.

RE: ACC Expansion it's Coming.
To the OP...the problem with UAB is they are controlled by Bama. They do offer some advantages but the ACC doesn't need Bama's lil play thing.

UConn, Cincy and most of the other AAC team's are better suited.

Cincinnati as the 16th maybe. The rest have no chance. It's all about football money and none of those schools add enough to the bottom line. A school has to be able to bring more money to the table the they are going to take.
