1) Sutton Smith (LB Missouri red shirt freshman)
2) Josh Corcoran (played a lot last year believe they are making him an edge rusher)
3) Alton Meeks (Iowa State transfer and should get plenty of reps at DE)

Sutton is great ath but at 205 down from 2015 is very small for LB and was moved from rb to lb last year ?
josh is a stud
Sutton will see the field at some point. Similar size, maybe more athletic than the older Santa, who made the same position change. Sutton looked like he had great football instincts in the spring game.

Pugh will be on the field a ton a can guarantee it. I have a feeling Tears won't get much pt this year. And if that happens, I'm my confident he'll stay here. He's really done nothing special. Didn't Hallmon have like 30 to 40 offers? Two "no names" say pt above him and will likely be the best db tandem in the MAC.

Who's got the best chance of playing as a True Freshman? There's always 2 or 3 that play right away.

Only in your mind....

Baring injury, I think we are too deep at WR for Tears to get any meaningful snaps this year.

Tears is probably the highest rated WR to ever come to NIU. I bet he will get plenty of time this season.

tears is the highest ranked player in niu history per 24/7
ever

will never play if he does not stop smoking and learn the play book !! bet me

Usually these are skill players as they do not need to add as much bulk to survive the step up from high school to college. As the team is fairly deep at running back and wide receiver, I don't see many contributing there. Maybe Andrew Parchment as he has good height but he is kind of thin. As mentioned earlier, Lance Deveaux might have the best chance since he also practiced in the spring. Marcus Childers might be a sleeper pick.

That's not good, especially since he already had the broken leg. I wonder if it is the same leg and will continue to be a weak point?

If you are talking about his injury from the MAC championship game 2 years ago, he broke his arm in that game.

Whoops yes you are 100% correct. Too early for me, and I was at that game so I should know....

I do recall a leg injury prior though, maybe a sprain? HIPPA probably prevents any concrete info.

Beebe still has his redshirt year available if it comes to that. Let's hope not.

The team practices just about every day. Coaches are not allowed to be involved so the practices are run by the seniors. They also work out with the strength coaches.

Is his name pronounced like "Pew", "Puff", or "Pug"? It would be interesting if the Huskies had a Pug.

Andrew Parchment looks good on paper.

I was part of the team for 4 years not too long ago my friend, so obviously I'm familiar w what goes on during the offseason. However, you're not correct...not all of the players are here all summer "practicing and doing 7 on 7". Are some? Of course...but a lot of times our coaches specifically didn't want us doing that kind of stuff because of what just happened w Beebe. It was more just cardio and lifting during the summer for whatever players stuck around.

Injuries can happen anytime and anywhere but obviously the coaching staff wants to limit the likelihood of that happening as much as possible. Especially when it comes to unsupervised "practices"
