In 2018, their cross-division opponents are Wisconsin, Nebraska and NW.

It's OOC games are Arkansas, Notre Dame and (for now) SMU.

Comparing that to, say, Iowa's schedule in 2018 is embarrassing. Iowa's ooc opponents in 2018 are NIU, Iowa State and Northern Iowa. I wish Iowa would schedule like Michigan does. At least after 2018, Iowa won't schedule any more FCS teams, which will help.

Oops, now Mich is dropping Arkansas from the schedule. I take back my praise of Mich's tough schedule. Serves me right. I should know by now, never say anything nice about Mich. Consistently the most over-rated team in the conference.

Notre Dame has fun national schedules. The only areas missing from the schedule are Texas and the Pacific Northwest.

It's still tough. Michigan has Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, UCLA & VT all on future schedules.

A schedule with two P5 non-con opponents would be tough, but over the next 12 years, Michigan has only two such seasons.

Nice try, troll. No sale, sorry. Try that somewhere else.

ND hasnt won a major bowl since 1991. What makes you think they can adding Michigan to their schedule. Lol

Heck AAC teamss have won 2 and the conf is 4 yrs old.

He wants me to feed the troll and get into some debate with him, plus sink to his level by reminding him that Memphis has never won a national football title and likely never will make the playoffs in the future.

I decline to do so. :)

ND started last season and begins this season with games versus Texas.

It did not take long for one of the most storied rivalries in college football to renew after what will be a short hiatus. Michigan and Notre Dame appear to be ready to resume a football series with an announcement scheduled for Thursday afternoon, according to multiple reports late Wednesday night.

While there are no details yet as to how long this renewed rivalry will last, it is obviously great news for fans of both schools and college football in general. Most believe the agreement will be for a home-and-home series over two years in 2018 and 2019.

The Wolverines and Fighting Irish last squared off in 2014 with Notre Dame routing Michigan 31-0. The programs had played consecutively from 2002-14 and 42 times in total dating back to 1887, including 31-of-37 years since 1978. The three-year drought will be the longest in the series since 1943 to 1978.
Discussion for renewing the series has been nearly nine months in the making, according to UM coach Jim Harbaugh, who told MLive.com that he's been "on board fully since the inception" of talks.

Irish coach Brian Kelly said he was pushing for the games just as hard as Harbaugh. "I think I've made it fairly public that I'd like to see this game happen," he said.

Meh!
Regional contest......if that gets Notre Dame fans excited, the irish should join the B1G.

Yes, I don't get the idea of not scheduling tough games because it ruins your chances of making the playoffs. Usually you need a tough schedule to prove you deserve that spot.

So what you are saying is that because UNC-Duke in hoops is just a regional, no make that a local, contest, fans of either school shouldn't get excited.

Apparently, Michigan pissed off Arkansas AD Jeff Long by cancelling the game with the Razorbacks and paying them $2 million dollars in order to play Notre Dame that year....

X, I take no offense at this or really have any reaction to it.

I have never seen an ACC game in any sport that did not involve Notre Dame, so I can completely understand your sentiments.

Whining by overpaid administrators is the worst.

It's really weak to hide behind the SEC's skirts by saying "a series between the SEC and the Big Ten" or "the most competitive conference in college football". It was a contract for a series between two teams: Arkansas and Michigan. No more, no less.

Arkansas has broken and changed contracts, just like almost everyone else in college football. Jeff, you have more than two years to find one more game each for 2018 and 2019, and the money you'll get from Notre Dame will even help Arkansas to pay part of your ginormous salary. Next time, try to take it like an adult.
