IMO, Cintas is clearly the best option. Only arena under consideration that is specifically configured for basketball, close to UC, and none of the parking hassles of downtown.
It'll be sweet to hang our NC and Final Four banners there for a few months. That'll be as close as that place ever gets to seeing one of them.

RE: No Gardens for UC
So long as Xavier keeps their own fans in check (which I assume they will, lest they want to look even more foolish following the brawl), I'd be fine with Cintas. Hang up some UC memorabilia, change the floor, and make sure our fans get the tickets, and it will actually be somewhat fun to celebrate in their arena. Imagine winning the Crosstown shootout there and having 10,000 UC fans piling out onto their campus.

Pass on Cintas. The thought of x lining their pockets from UC "home games" makes me physically ill. Negotiate a better deal with US Bank or cross the river to NKU if they must.

Why would Xavier fans come to a UC game no matter where it was played? Would you go to an X game if it was at the Shoe?

Just as UC would line their pockets in the return gesture when X is working on Cintas. The most petty and minor issues seem to be the problem with people against this option. The fact that it is the best option for UC doesn't seem to matter.

So you would pass up the best deal for our athletic department just because X would pick up a little extra revenue? I didn't realize we were at a place where we could pay more to go somewhere else just because it prevents X from collecting rent money. We have to do what's best for our bottom line, period.

I envision many Xavier students taking joy in showing up to UC games to cause havoc. They don't have a whole lot to do on that campus....

Parking near US Bank Arena and around the Banks is a breeze... And arguably easier than parking at X or UC for that matter.

There are no parking hassles downtown and UC will never hang in banners inside Cintas.

^^^^
This.
I always have to chuckle when the refrain starts to go towards "Well we don't need those type of fans anyway." The goal of UC...and every other college athletic department...is to BUILD the fan base. I would think a "neutral" site, followed by at least a non-hostile site, would trump the possibly more convenient-but-hostile environment.
But then again, what do I know? And I'm obviously the type of fan the program can do without.

Why do you care? You've already said you never go to games since Mick was hired.

If you access Cintas from Victory Parkway you don't even have to drive through their campus as Cintas is at the edge of it. I went last year to watch Cumberland in the playoffs and since Cintas is at the edge of campus I didn't feel that weirded out being there.

Bohn already said we would bring our banners along, and that includes Cintas.

OK, now that actually attending games has been brought up, I challenge every poster advocating for Cintas to reveal if they are a season tix holder or not. If not, how many games did you attend in person last year?

I have no problem telling you that I am a former season ticket holder that attended about 10 games last year. My travel schedule made it difficult to warrant keeping my seasons.
What is the big problem of walking on a campus other than UC? Is it every campus or just X? I don't get it.

I'm a student who generally makes it to 3-4 games a year. From my perspective, a short Uber to Xavier would be preferable. I'm not a fan of their students as a collective body, but most UC students have friends over there and Im sure wouldn't mind wandering over to their campus. It's a nice arena. I hate X as much as the next guy but I see no problems with using their facilities.

I'm a season ticket holder and I've missed one home MBB game since Cronin was named coach in 2006 (last season's Temple game).

Really? You think Xavier students would PAY MONEY for tix (only UC students would get into UC games for free) just to cause trouble?
I think they could probably figure out other ways to spend their $$$.

RE: No Gardens for UC
As a student who had to attend games in Xavier's home gym in the late 80's, I would never inflict that pain on the current student's. I will not pay to attend games at Cintas (I only go to 1-2 games a year anyway), but I would donate $50-$100 to the athletic department to help put the games elsewhere.
