Gun used in Paris attack linked to Fast & Furious
I still can't believe that giving high-powered weapons to drug cartels somehow went awry.

Quote:A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.

The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. “Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.

If I was the French government I would allow victims and their families to sue the United States government, 9/11-Saudi style.

Was it a big black scary gun? Was it an AR-15?

Okay...

how come no credible media outlets have covered this?

the source of this report isn't even a media outlet. it is a conservative watchdog group. it was then copied by almost exclusively partisan websites that don't come close to being mainstream.

Google it and prove otherwise John! After the conniption fit you had in another discussion about how it was *my* obligation to google something you now just jump in and attack the source.

Considering how long it took the leftist media to even acknowledge Fast and Furious to begin with expect them to start covering it sometime in the fall of 2017.

doesn't work that way. the issue with you in that thread is that you openly admitted to not knowing much about a topic, then saying your opinion on the topic was accurate unless proven otherwise even after someone explained to you why you were wrong, and had no intention of googling the topic yourself to find out the truth.

so yes...it's your freaking obligation in that situation.

seriously dude? you can't see the BS here considering how little traction it got? if this story had any ounce of credibility to it...it would hit the major news cycles.

How about this...lets track every gun sold in the private sales section of a gun show and see how many crimes and suicides they're linked to in a given year.

Seeing as we're all interested in seeing where guns used in crimes are coming from, it makes sense, right?

How exactly do you expect to do that when the ATFE couldn't even track the 2000 guns they let walk in Fast and Furious?

RE: Gun used in Paris attack linked to Fast & Furious
Here ya go Bull...

Quote:Yet this paragraph is actually saying two things. First, it's saying that a gun used in the Paris attack was traced to a Phoenix gun seller. Then it says Phoenix was the home to the ATF's Fast and Furious operation. But Judicial Watch intentionally phrased the paragraph to give readers an impression that one was linked to the other, simply because the word Phoenix is in both statements.

The rest of the weblog entry is just a bunch of blather trying to obfuscate what it did in the very first paragraph.
