Hey CatMom,

Springs Brooks Stadium actually seats more. That capacity was taken last year, before the stadium was 100% finished. With the addition of the two grass berms and the outfield Boardwalk. Springs Brooks can fit somewhere between 5,000-6,000 spectators.

Trying to list permanent seating. Most of these facilities can hold a lot more than their stated capacities so I'm trying to go with that. I'll change to 2500.

Coastal's football field expandable to 45k is very misleading and will never be seen. Bordered by two streets and bascially no parking. Expect the stadium to be increased to 15-18k for the SBC at some point.

Also, the very first expansion that's going through the approval process now, is for 21-22k. So your little comment about "15-18k at some point" is nothing more than a criticism pulled from the deepest part of your rear end.

Haha nice ** on TXST. I'm pretty sure everyone has stadium expansion plans if the need is there. And for that matter, Georgia State should have a "*** Upgrade-able to 72,000 when warranted"

Bobcat Stadium has 4 phases to the upgrade
1 - West Side Complex - 2010
2 - North End Zone - 2012
3 - East Side upgrade (3rd tier and suites)
4 - Bowling in South end zone
The plan is already in place
[Image: BobcatStadium_web.jpg]
I'll probably be dust before it happens but it's in place. (ok, there's that little thing called money)

I'm just getting started. It's a lot of work for the time I have available. Need to get the lists themselves finished first.

No, Coastal's request to the CHE was 21-22 which has not given approval even after four efforts, hence the 15-18k which is where it will probably will end up. That is not a diss, just a fact. You have a small stadium and very little parking bordered by a cemetery and a campus street. Now honest injun, you dont' really think 45k could ever happen, do you? Several SBC stadiums could be enlarged to 100,000+ under the same reasoning but I'm betting we will never see any one doing so. Coastal made a poor decision not to built a new stadium on #501 when it make the decision to play football.

Ok buddy...I'll try this one more time, and this time I'll break it down for you, so it can't possibly be misunderstood.

When someone puts an "**" in a key, you must reference where the "**" is in the original content to know what item is being footnoted. There is only one single "*" by Coastal. The 45k comment is noted with (two) "**". You'll see very clearly that the "**" in the original content is sitting right next to Texas state. Hence, her 45k comment was about Texas State. She even further clarified this for you in her follow up post. So you're arguing with yourself about how wrong you are.

As for your 15-18k speculation, that's nothing but you pulling a number out of your ass that you have zero basis for, and zero insider knowledge to support.

Here's my undocumented, unsupported, self concocted speculation....Aliens are going to invade Arkansas and destroy AState's football stadium with giant laser beams, bringing your capacity down to 15k. See!! Now in my alternate reality, your stadium is smaller than my stadium in your alternate reality!

Thank you for your inspirational speech on the **. Where I got the 45k was from a Coastal fan which stated such some months ago when the matter was surfaced during first discussions on membership. Yes, the 15-18k is a guess but I'm betting it's close to what's built.

That's not what happened here. You were directly responding to CatMom's post. No Coastal fan has ever thought we were getting a 45k stadium. Everyone reading this knows exactly what happened.

What happened here is you doubled down on your lack of comprehension, then pulled a number out of your rear end to make a backhanded comment.

Are these amounts for additional capital improvements or planned pay off of the bond indebtedness for the recent expansions?

The schedule includes numerous improvements to other facilities including athletic facilities Strahan Coliseum and the baseball facilities.

I haven't a clue. It does seem odd that there is money appropriated for the West side when that is already done. Maybe they have some improvements they plan to add to it or it is a payment on what is already there. I don't know. The East side is supposedly the next phase but maybe they are going to go about it differently and bowl in the West side to meet up with the SEC to add more suites. They did put an Alumni building between the west stands and the SEC so I would assume the plans for that "bowl" section have changed; as they now have to go over? around? it.

As for the baseball/softball locker room facility, yeah, that's not happening unless someone steps up to the plate (see what I did there?) with 10 million and change to fund it.
That's been a vision for at least 6 years now and the price tag just keeps increasing.

Look for what school the "**" is by. I'll wait.

Also, the very first expansion that's going through the approval process now, is for 21-22k. So your little comment about "15-18k at some point" is nothing more than a criticism pulled from the deepest part of your rear end.

As for your 15-18k speculation, that's nothing but you pulling a number out of your ass that you have zero basis for, and zero insider knowledge.

What prompted my interest in the post is you telling us how much larger your baseball seating was because you have grassy seating when Cat Mom was clearly speaking of permanent seating. Then I recalled a fan's earlier comments on the football stadium expansion. Your stadium is small with very limited parking and it's locked into a small geographic area. Regardless of how you want to spin it, those are the facts. Sorry you got the red ass.

Here's a hint: read her post a little closer.

actually uta's maverick stadium is not defunct. it is in pretty good shape and gets used a lot. when it was built plans were included for some modest expanasion too. the playing surface and locker rooms and weight rooms have been kept up to date. fbs games with MAC like attendance could be held there tomorrow. it would need an endzone building like everyone else has and a few thousand new seats to not be a recruiting negative.

UTA did it, so maybe the keeping-up-with-the-Jones attitude will pop up. Certainly can't have us having the better basket/volleyball arena, track-and-field stadium AND softball/baseball venues.

Noticed that too.

Question for SouthAl fans. Are there any plans or talks about providing some type of overhang over at least the chairbacks at Stanky Field?
