I see it as potentially good for the short term for both USF and UCF...we need to both get really good at the same time for once...makes for a better package deal.

Sooner or later the two will meet at the end of the season in a Top 25 matchup that has significant meaning. And it's going to be awesome

Its gonna be like a mini fsu-uf game

All of these expansion threads need to start the title with "Opinion:".

And that would be a top match up in Big12

Chip Brown is stating it as fact not his opinion, and said it's based on Big 12 sources.

Could he be wrong, sure. Who hasn't been.

If Brett McM said the same thing would you call it an opinion.

EDIT: I changed thread title to reflect the info was from Chip Brown.

Definitely!!!!! McFudge has shown little love for USF or the old Big East schools over the years. 04-rock

Big East Part II; going to decide to expand once it's too late. Within 3-5 years, UCF would be a top half team in the B12, in both on-field performance and off-the-field support/viewership. No doubt about it.

Chip Brown has a terrible track record. Don't take anything he says seriously unless it's corroborated by other "journalists" independently.

That said I think he's right on this one.

You were literally the worst football team in the country last year.

Your point.... Went 0fer before and the next year went for 8 wins. We had a cluster **** of a season for a number of reasons. It's the outlier. 2 to 3 years and we will be humming again. All of the positives of 10 years of football aren't negated by one season.

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby doesn't expect votes on key issues this week but wants decisions by the end of summer.

Source indicates at least six Big 12 schools now favor expansion as a concept and maybe as many as eight. No consensus on who just yet.

Three interim presidents will be at Big 12 meetings. Baylor's Ken Starr had chaired composition committee which studied expansion.

I guess this means that we will not get another ODU thread about them joining the AAC. Now I am really sad.

You mean Mizzou, Nebraska and the Aggies left town. Colorado wasn't that much of a hit when they left.

RE: Chip Brown @ HornsDigest.com: Big 12 Expansion DEAD for now
This is the most dysfunctional group since the old Big East. Members aren't equal and don't have the interest of each other. Texas is to the B12 what Boise State is to the MWC, but who can blame them. I personally would want no part of such an arrangement. It's time for the AAC to solidify and build together. It's time for the B12 to quit jerking everyone around creating instability when they can't even reach a consensus among themselves!!!!

RE: Chip Brown @ HornsDigest.com: Big 12 Expansion DEAD for now
From day 1 I said it wasn't going to happen. Texas is not going to budge an iota from the LHN and as many Big 12 school Boards members have said none of the schools from the AAC add any value to the conference. Only team(s) I see moving in the future when the LHN expires would be BYU and possibly Cincy.

It has been fun sitting back reading some of these delusional threads though 03-lmfao
