I'm not sure if TOM III has a sister (or if she's white) but he does have a white brother that the Wisconsin sanctuary named Memphis in honor of this donation.

The only tigers likely to be left in 50 years will be the ones in captivity. It's more important than ever to do our part to keep them alive.

One of the coolest things to do on LSU's campus on any day is visit the huge 15,000 sq ft habitat of Mike the Tiger, which is located right next to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and near Tiger Stadium. LSU fans raised $3 Million almost 10 years ago to get this habitat built, as their old facility was around 2,000 sq ft.

LSU has done a great job building an amazing facility on their campus that students, visitors and fans can enjoy...all while giving a beautiful animal that was BORN in captivating (only reason its alive today) a place to live and play.

Here's a live Mike The Tiger Web Cam that shows just a portion of his cool play pen (he was rolling around near the edge earlier today).

In 50 years there will be no wild tigers.

Just put him down now and avoid the rush. Put him out of his misery.

I think working with big cats can be dangerous. Sometime my house cat will just playfully pounce on me for no reason. Cats are neurotic. http://www.independent.co.uk/property/ho...17176.html

It'd be really cool if we could get a facility built on the campus. I know Tennessee has some wild animal rule that forced the move to Mississippi, but it seems they could do something in conjunction with the Memphis Zoo.

My understanding is that this treatment is what will allow him to make it a couple of more years.
