You're number 95 in the Orlando Sentinel Poll that we have yet to appear in.

AAC quality competition makes ODU Football and Basketball even more popular.

Every team in the American except Tulane would sell out a 20k seat stadium

How many would've every home game for the past seven years? And how many match those bb attendance numbers?

All. I don't see anything about basketball

If you think so you need to go back and look at some of your conference brethren's attendance numbers over the same period. Several were averaging less than that for a season just a few years ago. But we're not talking averages, this is every game regardless of opponent. How many teams had at least one game with less than 20,000? Without doing too much research I'd guess at least half of them. And the bold part above references basketball attendance. That'd put us 4th in basketball attendance in the AAC. Fan support is not our problem.

Outside of SMU and Tulane I think most easily average over 20k.

Should be a major announcement June 9th. BOV gets Presidents recommendation based on Populous research. A new stadium is definitely coming, only question is how big.
Many are speculating the delay in announcing plans relates to determining possibility of an AAC invite.

I tracked attendance last year. Several had all games over 30,000, quite a few 20,000+ with only SMU and Tulsa dipping below 20,000 tix sold for individual games. Granted this is based on tickets sold/distributed, not actual game day attendance. Tulane sold a good numbers of tickets (2014 Memphis game sold out way in advance cuz I looked into getting tix). Ticket holders just didn't show.

Interesting.. I'll have to check your beat writer's Twitter page on that date. Also, your AD seems very approachable and at ease with the media. He doesn't often shy away from topics and is very candid when answering questions. Refreshing!

There are more moving parts than people know when you talk about a new stadium. Its not a fan friendly process.

ODU is very far down the list of where recruits in the 757 zip code want to play football. They also will drop by 25% the amount that students will pay for sports from the "sports fees" allotment.

ODU plays third fiddle to UVA and Va Tech in the Tidewater area. In fact, there are probably as many ECU fans in the Tidewater as there are ODU fans.

ODU will not be part of the AAC now or in the immediate future. Marshall imo, is the best add from Conf USA

What does this even mean? And you're silly if you think there are more ECU fans in the Tidewater area than ODU fans.

BF has consistently been a nay sayer about ODU joining the AAC.
Said it before, say it again. He's scarred. We already consistently dominate them in basketball (admittedly easy to do) and if we have a level playing field it'll only be a matter of time before we start consistently beating them in football.

And Tulsa. They're all smaller private schools though. My point with Dowdy (and only because he was trying to diminish our accomplishment like any team here could do it) was how many other schools would have sold out a 20,000 seat stadium every game the last seven years? On top of those three. At least UCONN, Temple and Memphis that I found had home games with less than 20K in attendance since ODU started football in 2009.

None of this matters. ODU will be blocked by ECU.

Guys the AAC already decided on NIU and USM. All this bickering is irrelevant

Yeah, that's a long shot. I spent 4 years visiting Gville and it was my first football game ever. It holds a fond place in my heart, I have tons of Pirate friends. There are a fair number of Pirate Club stickers driving around our area but that's a stretch to even think it's close.

What does that matter? You play 4th fiddle to UNC, NC State, and Duke. You seem to be doing ok.

And I give all my State friends **** as often as I can about them not playing you because ECU "Gets up for the game" so it's unfair." Damnit I was mad when yall left this could have been such an awesome rivalry.

There is no reversal. Terry Holland was literally the only person at ECU that wanted you guys in CUSA. The BOT was livid about it and was part of the reason he was ran out of town.
