A lot of hate for South Alabama in the preseason. I thought they'd be getting more love than this.

Georgia State fans, what do you think of them ranking your QB dead last?

Why? We have a new, unproven QB, we lost almost all starting WRs, our best o-linemen just transferred, we have a new DC to take over a defense that was pretty bad last year, and we have one of the toughest schedules in the conference. I can't even pump sunshine about our team this year. I'm hoping they surprise me.

I feel like you could build an offense around that WR, TE, and RB that burned us last year. All three return and have All-SBC potential.

Based on what we saw last year....they've got a LONG way to go.

Makes sense...no one knows who it will be and whoever it is will be replacing one that was pretty good.
Do I think there's talent amongst our QBs? Yes. Enough talent to keep things going in the right direction? Sure hope so.

I like our quarterbacks especially in our system (at least in our system from last year) but I think 41 is a little high on a national scale.

I think it's more premature than wrong.
I think what we saw in the Bowl game was very promising, but it's too early to say that Upshaw had a light bulb coming on game like Kevin Ellison did at Florida.

Oh I agree for our run first (second, third...) system Upshaw or Ellison fit the bill but on a national scale at 41 without any real consistent passing threat (at least shown so far) it just seems high.

I wouldn't put too much faith in this ranking. Did you see how high they had Georgia Tech and Western Michigan QBs?

Yea, this year is likely to be rough. But we have a path to 6 wins. Nicholls, NMSU, GA State, and Troy at home. Idaho and ULM on the road. Not much of a margin for error though. And apparently our APR is going to be good this year. So this is the rebuilding year we've always had to face. But a bowl game is possible if our QB comes along, our defense gells, the team doesnt give up as we start off a likely 1-5, and we don't defeat ourselves. The better bad news about having a brutal start to the schedule is that it might give our new players a chance to work the kinks out in games we don't have to win. For me the Troy game is huge. Win it and were 50-50 for a bowl. The only "reach" game for us is at ULL. We should be favored in 4 games, and be slight underdogs in 3 more.
I think our schedule is actually pretty manageable for 6 wins, but really difficult for 7. While the most likely result for this team is 4-8, 6-6 and a bowl shouldn't shock anyone
