Dont think any of the top four will commit. Also 5-7 (Jones,Johnson, and Heath) of the top instate should be our focus.

Agreed. Reese and Brooks are long gone. Johnson is still gettable IMO. Herb Jones is likely out of the picture too. If we can get Hurtado and/or Johnson I'll be pretty happy.

I just don't know if there is a William Lee type get for Ehsan in this loaded class. Lee was an anomaly. He didn't get deep in to the whole recruiting thing and really wanted to stay home. For whatever reason the in state big schools never messed with him to seriously. Could have been his knees. Bet they regret that now.

Despite our recent success the reality for UAB is getting an undervalued big like Cokley and coaching him up. A strong first half of the season could possibly sway Jones or Brooks. I love that about our schedule. We have all the opportunity in the world to showcase our program.

Haven't followed 17 recruiting too closely. Is Hurtado leaning strongly towards us? He seems like a solid player at a position we will definitely need. Any other solid in state players not mentioned that we have a chance at?

Ehsan really wants Hurtado. So much so he got Greivis Vasquez (both Venezuelan) to meet with him after one of his games. The other guy UAB really wants is the guard from Florida, Zack Bryant. He and Hurtado both have some big offers and will only continue to get more.

For now it seems we have our focus on the big guys in state. After AAU finishes and those guys blow up we'll probably start seeing Ehsan and crew focus in on some more realistic local guys in the fall.

A little of both. I watch the big guys very closely on social media. Reese is all about Alabama right now. His Vandy interaction has gone quiet and he rarely likes or RTs any thing we post about him at The Daily Dragon anymore. With his recent addition to the USA squad I wouldn't be shocked to see him start getting ACC offers by the fall.

Garrison Brooks recruitment is about to blow up too. He has a higher ceiling that Reese IMO. Good news is has made a point to include UAB when he references his recruitment. Reese has gotten to where he only mentions UAB when asked about it.

I mentioned I thought we had a decent chance with Johnson but I forgot we haven't even offered him yet. Not sure why.

Would definitely make a run at Tevin Brown in Fairhope.

Absolutely agree. Bet we'll pick up steam on him early fall.

Tevin Brown – Fairhope (AL) – SE Elite FBC – 2017

Brown just knows how to score the ball. He shot the ball very in Session 2. In one game he went eight for eight behind the three-point line just in the first half. He had multiple games where he shot five (3s) or more. Brown is receiving interest from UAB, TROY, South Alabama, and Wofford.

And if he does, will it result in another "confidential" letter from the UAB BBHC to the NCAA?
