"Tulane is a big football school" - Les Miles
https://twitter.com/JimKleinpeter/status...9585410048

Not sure if its been covered, but here's the background:

After satellite camps were re-legalized, LSU announced a camp in New Orleans with the Saints, and on the North Shore with Baylor. Now, Tulane under the ex Prez and ex AD would have been ok with this, probably even helped, hoping for an invite or table scraps. Thats old Tulane.

New Tulane responded by announcing they were hosting camps in Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, and Monroe, "featuring" coaches from Texas A&M. Apparently we approached Ole Miss and Miss State too.

This made Leslie mad. Tulane should know its place right? He gave a pouty interview last week about every school in Louisiana is invited to their camps except "that school" who partners with out of state schools.

You'd figure that would be the end of it, but its not. He gave an interview today, and just couldn't help himself. First he said there wasn't any reason Tulane is the only school not invited. Then he said Tulane isn't invited because we didn't want to go. Then he started rambling about how LSU would be doing Tulane a favor and we would regret it, but LSU wouldn't want to partner with Tulane anyway. Why? Well he said this. "#LSU coach Les Miles: I don't see the advantages of partnering with big schools"

Welp, sorry CUSA/SBC Louisiana schools. LSU doesn't respect you. Only school in La they are worried about is Tulane. And now that we aren't being the good little subservient program, the school up the river is taking notice. Louisiana is LSU and Tulane. Always has been, always will be.

Now say ULL three times and watch them flood the AAC board again.

Personally, imo nothing says small time like partnering with a P5 school to try to sell your school. Nothing says lame like, "hey this other school you really wanted to go to doesnt want you but would you mind coming here?" Or the other way "you wouldn't look at us normally but since this school is here you will". Why can't the G5s hold their own camps? This is the social equivalent for settling for the drunk fat chick at 1:55 am.

I believe this is more like seeing your ex from Baton Rouge with some new guy at your favorite bar in New Orleans, so you go out and get a high priced hooker from College Station and bring her by.

Doesn't really matter that the hooker doesn't care about you. Its about spite and sending a message.

Apparently we are actually-- G5 partners I mean. I'm not sure I believe it, but it says here coaches from Houston as well as Texas A&M. Houston? Really? A divisional rival? I'm thinking either a misprint or just coaches from Houston area, not from UH Houston.... Would be odd.

Houston is teaming with A&M doing Camps in the Dallas Metroplex, and East Texas.

"Tulane will host A&M and Houston coaches on its campus for two campus (June 17 and July 23), and the teams will participate in camps in Shreveport and in Monroe on June 15."

Um, thanks, Tulane! But we won't be returning the favor. Herman has publicly said he will not host any out-of-state coaching staffs for camps. It baffles me why Tulane would invite other teams to recruit in their backyard and help cover the expense of it to boot. Houston is partnering with A&M to host camps in East Texas, but that is being done on mutually-contested grounds away from both campuses. Different scenario.

I don't believe UH coaches are coming, its Houston coaches, as in, coaches HS coaches from Houston that Fritz knows. Because, yeah, it wouldn't make any sense to me otherwise, and I haven't seen or heard anything about UH being involved.

False, Les Miles knows that Tulane is a sleeping giant. He knows we are the only threat to LSU in Louisiana. He also knows we are just as big time as they are. Les miles is just sayin what everybody else is thinking.

Ah....

I remember the old days when UC had a thriving fan board over on Rivals. Rutgers had a fan named "RutgersAl" who ran around continually posting delusional stuff like this. His best line was when he called Rutgers the "USC of the East."

It's nice to know that Tulane is basically the "Rutgers of the AAC."
