1. This dope is already giving the Sox "home field advantage" throughout the playoffs. Let them make the playoffs first.
2. And yeah you got me on that 1906 World Series. That one still bugs me to this day. I'll never forget how I felt the night the Sox won.
3. I'd bet you any amount of money you want paid via PayPal that the Cubs win more games than the Sox this year.
1)W Sox are 5 games ahead of every AL Central division team and with defending World Series Champion KC"s top 2 starters on the DL, the only competition the WS have for the Central Title is Cleveland.
2) Thanks for sharing about 1906. That's just one of a number of choke jobs the Cubs have pulled over the years. I could list them all but have more profitable work to do.
3) The league your team plays in is a joke, the Tokyo Giants would win the NL West. The NL has been proven to be inferior in head to head competition with the AL for 12 consecutive seasons. Your team's Inter League Play winning % is .460 (near the bottom) while the WS is .576 (3rd )with Yankees and Angels #1 & #2) .
Playing the inferior competition your team does makes the wager you have proposed inequitable.
I'm a sox fan...but come on...Tokyo Giants? The japanese Nippon league is equivalent to AAA.
With all the Japanese talent playing in MLB and the success they've had; the better Nippon League teams can play with the weaker MLB teams, especially those in the lower half of the National
Current Japenese players in MLB, 2016 stats:
1. Nori Aoki- .224/0HR/6RBI
2. Yu Darvish- hasn't pitched since 2014
3. Hisashi Iwakuma- 1-4 4.38ERA
4. Kenta Maeda- 3-3 2.87ERA
5. Ichiro- .326/0HR/4RBI
6. Masahiro Tanaka- 1-0 3.51ERA
7. Junichi Tazawa- 0-1 1.65 ERA
8. Koji Uehara- 2-1 3.94ERA
All of that "talent" couldn't even make up a full team. Three starting pitchers. Two relievers and two position players.
Tokyo Giants current record: 21-17.
They feature four players that have played in the big leagues.
Scott Mathieson- MLB stats- 1-4 6.75ERA -0.8 WAR ,NPB stats- 16-16 2.38ERA
Miles Mikolas- MLB stats- 4-6 5.32ERA -0.7 WAR, NPB stats 13-3 1.92 ERA
Aaron Poreda- MLB stats- 3-1 4.67ERA, 0.2 WAR NPB stats 8-8 2.94ERA
Garrett Jones- .251/122HR/400RBI -2.5 WAR, NPB stats (first season) .229/7HR/20RBI
Mathieson is 2nd on the team in pitching appearances.
Garrett Jones is 2nd on the team in home runs and RBI's.
This is the team he said not only would be competitive in the NL, but would WIN THE NL WEST. Definitely going down as one of the dumbest statements on this board.
