I'm sorry where has the tea party tried to ban someone from speaking in a public place?

Bernie Sanders...

your point?

I'm kind of taken aback by the fact it is not painfully obvious.

Bernie Sanders is in no way associated with the extreme elements of the BLM movement. He has been targeted by BLM protestors and bloggers. One of his political problems is that Hilary kept out performing him among black voters in the early stages of the primaries.

then to top it off he is an independent, not even a member of the party, is excelling largely on the power void of no legitimate alternative to Clinton (Biden enters the race and he never would have gotten this far) and to top it off he has no chance of winning. At the end of the day he is the only a single person rather than a large scale movement impacting hundreds of elections on the local, state, and federal level and having serious impacts on the running of Washington and GOP party leadership. not even close to being comparable.

they do more civilized things like shutting down the govt, voter suppression, and plotting massive conspiracy theories. There's a reason Jeff Daniels called them the American Taliban.

I think that speaks to the extreme nature of the BLM group.

But, Bernie has taken that and run with it. His disgusting comment about white people not knowing what it was like to be poor proves that. He has also played into the whole prison pipeline lunacy and the "everything is racist" approach.

It's extreme and it's winning a lot of votes in the liberal party.

BLM is extreme because it is a leaderless online movement with no organizational structure. In has no single viewpoint and is the collection of hundreds of different perspectives all using the same name. it has no filter and no leadership structures to keep the movement in check.

Bernie has supported some of the criticisms brought up by BLM. like any internet driven leaderless movement it has both extreme and reasonable arguments. there are certain valid complaints from BLM but not every complaint is valid. Sanders buys into the valid arguments and I don't think he has ever endorsed BLM directly. IMO he would probably take a stance similar to MLK saying that all lives matter and trying to keep the movement in check rather than the uncontrolled rhetoric.

Shutting down the government - I'm sorry you mean elected officials filibustering? like politicians on both sides have don?

Voter Suppression - Opinion and nothing more. Wanting an accurate vote is not supression

Plotting massive conspiracy theories... ummm what?

How does any of this compare, in the least, to the left's propensity to try to use threats, violence, and authority (when they own it) to shut down the speech of people with whom they disagree..

Or, current follower of the bern or the fake Shrillary campaign.

I'll at least give Bern some cred, he speaks what he believes, stands behind it, and gives it a go.

The complete fraud that is the clintoon machine, warmed up yet again, that can ignore what a horrible person she is, and how she has led the fight to denigrate and demean young women who her "husband" has violated, is beyond me.

I guess Chelsea would have been okay with Papa's work...

The BLMs of the world will burn their neighborhoods down and then they’ll squirt tears because America doesn’t rebuild them fast enough. And because the weave shops, liquor stores, KFC and Popeye’s don’t rebuild at all.

I'd take your fevered interpretation of the Tea Party every day of the week and twice on Sunday as opposed to the reality of the fart left and the current iterations of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Bernie Sanders is an independent who votes with the Democrats on most issues and it is running for the nomination of the Democratic party, which is a major party. Some independent.

but the point is. sanders and the BLM have done absolutely nothing to change the democratic party. whereas the GOP is clearly voting more conservative than ever before.

in what way has the BLM movement caused any real legislative action regarding their agenda? same question for Bernie.

and won with 70% of Republicans favoring him? you can't possibly be serious?

your one example is ridiculously incomparable to the examples on the GOP and at the end of the day you are banking on one lone example as a comparison to a universal trend on the GOP side that has impacted hundreds of elections.

and please, do tell. did BLM exist in 2006? because that is what the original argument is about.

Republicans had two choices... Vote for the GOP candidate and hand the seat over to a moveon.orger or vote for the lesser of two evils. They voted for the lesser.

Where are all the blue dogs? Lieberman was a high water mark. Shows you just how wildly far to the left the Democrats have went in the past ten years. Sanders may not win but he is pulling the party further left. Sanders, in the 2005 edition of the democratic party, does not get out of Iowa.

BLM is a continuation of the leftward swing of the party.
