RE: Offseason Musings: Steph Curry, Canadians, and Nate Darling
I'm a GSW fan, as I'm originally from Northern California. The Splash Brothers, Curry and Thompson, have definitely had an effect on the game, at all levels. Steph Curry has had an incredible season.

It's a huge step from high school to college, but the two freshmen coming in next season should be fun to watch.

I remember 3 or 4 years ago Mark Jackson referring to them as the best shooting duo of all time. I scoffed at the remark. Now, he might be right.

I know Darling is quite a shooter, but his shot is ugly

Funny you said that. Thought the same thing myself. Came across some other folks saying as much on a recruiting site as well.

RE: Offseason Musings: Steph Curry, Canadians, and Nate Darling
I didn't really care much about Golden State until they drafted Curry. I remember him playing at Davidson and I was a fan so I was excited to see what he could do. I never ever would have thought he'd be the player he is today, especially after the ankle injuries. They definitely generated a shift in the sport. You don't need someone feasting in the post. You can be a jump shooting team and win. They've shown that. More importantly, I like their play and I feel like it's refreshing to move the slider a little closer to the finesse side of the spectrum.

I've seen, sometime, legitimate concerns about kids trying to emulate it, but that's what coaching is meant to iron out. Your average guard isn't going to be doing fast break threes, but, if he or she has game like that, then it is what it is.

As an aside, one thing that annoys me is the team being downplayed. If I get annoyed when I'm not even a real fan of the team, I can't imagine how much it grates on them to hear folks say stuff like they'd get swept by Jordan's Bulls, that they got lucky with opposing injuries, that they play soft, etc.

I'd like to think they'd shut up the doubters for good if they go back to back.

It's interesting how the GSW gave Curry an extension while he was still being troubled by nagging ankle sprains. It's also fascinating how Curry signed with Under Armour instead of Nike.

But for me, what's most amazing is how he strengthened his core in an effort to reduce the pressure on his ankles. He can still get ankle sprains, but he now uses his core muscles more than ever. Here is the article on it - http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/147506...les-sports

Nike's pitch flop will be remembered as one of the biggest retail shoe sales shifts in history.

The doubters should be shut up now. They won a title and at worst tied for the best regular season in history. What they are doing works.

I don't care what Nate's shot looks like. It just keeps going in the basket. James Ponder had an ugly shot too.

Mike Davis Jr. had a pretty shot but it rarely went in during games.

Personally, I have a gorgeous shot...but my percentage drops to about 15% outside of about 3 feet

What's scary is they pick up a couple of new pieces as well that will help during playoff time (Verajao, Clark).

I think dirk's shot looks really good. I'm with attalla though, don't care what it looks like as long as it's going in the basket.

It is possible for someone to comment on an ugly shot without really caring that it's ugly

I can't help but think of Jim Furyk and his golf swing. It's the results that count.

You mean the Jim Furyk who hasn't played a round of competitive golf this year because of back surgery?

Totally kidding. Love me some Furyk.

Right. Nobody here said "it's ugly, so he needs to change it"
