Not trying to be a prick but there's a competitive level difference between the AAC and were boise state currently resides, the mountain west conference. Let's be honest here, and again not trying to be a prick, but the mwc is a one team conference.
"Not trying to be a prick" "G4 crown" ? hahaha. Let's not get too cocky...I predict Houston will win the access bowl bid this year but if not Boise and SDSU will be the top contenders. In 2015 the AAC had a great year and the MWC had a terrible one. I suspect the MWC will be a lot better next year and every one not named Houston in the AAC will be down a bit....I think the AAC will fight the MWC for 6th best conference, and the AAC will be the better by a hair. CUSA, SB and MAC will be a country mile behind those two IMHO. Also, the ACC will be down with the AAC and MWC nipping at their heels. P4, middle 3, bottom 3.
Boise and SDSU will be very good next year and Air Force and New Mexico are my sleeper picks for most improved in the country. After Houston I think USF will be a big surprise next season. ECU will challenge them for the East. My predictions after what I'm hearing from spring ball...
Cheers!
LOL... And my hunch is you're a mwc fan.
That's a good hunch! One of these days you'll figure it out. Iowa Hawkeye born and raised with stops in the pan handle and Carolina in between then and now..ECU for my BA and went to grad school at OU. I'm in the Army still. But nooooo, I'm never accused of being a Hawkeye fan or a Sooner fan or an Army fan by you lol...I've screamed Quo, random CUSA fan, random Sun Belt fan and random MWC to you. How come I'm never accused of being a fan of the MAC? That would make sense a little, I admit. I'm the only college wrestling fan on this board. BTW, I'll say it again if ECU ever gets a wrestling program going big things will happen. Go ECU! If Herman slips watch out! We win when everyone expects us not to.
See you at NRG for the Coog game vs OU this year. And yes, I'll be wearing OU gear with my Dad even if I'm kind of rooting for the Coogs. We can meet up there. Then you can decide right then and there what I am. I'm a ECU fan, and not a fan of any conference, my school comes first.
Cheers!
Don't be a fan of the MAC... we suck. That's why I so desperately want to see my favorite team and my alma mater out of there, especially if one of my other teams (UC) gets the call up to a P5 conference

It was a joke. Houston fans have a problem with me, one thinks I'm Quo and another has consistently accused me of being a fan of a lesser conference(s). I actually like the latter fan. I don't know why he took that cheap shot at me last night. BTW, every post I'm made on 2016 predictions have the Coogs being awesome this year. A couple weeks ago I predicted that Houston could make the playoffs. I fit in well here in Houston because everyone I know is an AtM fan, with a few other exceptions. we don't argue as Ive got no dog in that hunt. I'm not well liked by a lot of Houston fans on this board. They are a sensitive bunch, very pro AAC, very pro Aresco. Biggie is normally cool though, I Don't know why he was so feisty last night? Feeling better Biggie?

Possibly, however I think AAC has been to more BCS bowls than Boise.
UCF - win
Houston - win
Cincinnati - 2 losses
UConn - loss
Am I missing anyone?

RE: 2016 Preseason Group of 5 teams
The committee has shown in the past couple of years that "who you play and beat" matters in terms of their rankings. I think Boise is a significant disadvantage unless some MWC teams start beating some OOC opponents.
We saw Marshall not ranked even though they had a gaudy record.

They (Marshall)were ranked while they were undedeated, then dropped out after their loss to WKU. Don't remember if they won/lost their bowl game. Too lazy to look.

Yeah... We defeated Northern Illinois and cracked back into the top 25 in the final poll (#23, I think).

Yeah, we got thoroughly embarrassed. Still a little salty about it, but the better team won. Injuries be damned.
But i guess some bowl games do matter a bit then, eh? Or at least the committee see beating a perenially strong (when not injury-plagued) NIU team means something for SOS. You have a chance at that this year USF, looking forward to the game

I almost liked the old computer system of rankings though. I mean at least there was no way it could be argued there was a bias to certain teams.

Absolutely. But I think it's more the matchup and not necessarily the bowl. But two 12-1 G5 teams matched up anywhere is a great bowl that will garner interest. That bowl game was the only game that featured champ vs champ (outside of the BCS bowls...

Boise isn't even the best team in their division much less the MWC. Will any MWC come within two TDs of SDSU this year?

I thought Houston was returning a lot. I bet they give bsu a run for their $. Kinda like how TCU and bsu used to be the top teams of the non power leagues. Now uh and bsu seem to occupy that spot.
Not trying to be a prick but there's a competitive level difference between the AAC and were boise state currently resides, the mountain west conference. Let's be honest here, and again not trying to be a prick, but the mwc is a one team conference.
You're right. That team is SDSU.

Boise isn't even the best team in their division much less the MWC. Will any MWC come within two TDs of SDSU this year?

Facts are facts. SDSU returns almost its entire two deep from a team that cut through the MWC like an 800lb gorilla with a chainsaw for a *****.
Meanwhile Boise loses both coordinators and almost their entire defense from a team that finished fourth in their division...

^ If this is true, I don't see how SDSU CAN'T be the overwhelming favorite to win the MWC. Is Boise just riding name recognition?

According to a Phil Steele's Blog, SDSU and Boise State, both return 13 starters.
