4/8-4/10 CUSA baseball action
RPIs **NOW ADJUSTED FOR FRIDAY**

#198 Charlotte (3-6) at #15 FAU (8-1)
#30 ODU (3-6) at #155 FIU (4-5)
#100 La Tech (4-5) at #69 WKU (5-4)
#98 Marshall (5-4) at #124 UTSA (2-7)
#90 MT (2-7) at #16 USM (8-1)
#164 UAB (3-6) at #14 Rice (7-2)

It appears we will most likely be flip-flopping anywhere from #3-5 for a bit as there's a reasonable gap from the #2 to #3 and then #5 to #6 conferences :

#2 ACC .5806
#3 BIG12 .5411
#4 CUSA .5407
#5 PAC12 .5398
#6 WCC .5278
#7 AAC .5278

I fully expect Charlotte to get swept this weekend and that is best for the conference.

FAU/MTSU fans:
As we enter this weekend to take on MTSU and we are tied with FAU, I was interested in knowing how the Friday night game in your series went down? MTSU got the victory and I was curious as to how that game looked. Thanks

Not really. Losing one or 2 games to Charlotte would not KILL FAU and would help us to get our RPI up into a more respectable range (given FAU's strong RPI). This would actually end up helping Charlotte and the rest of the teams on our schedule as well. Go Niners!

Not the answer you are looking for but an interesting side note to MT and Friday night games......MT's only 2 CUSA wins were both on a Friday at home and came against FAU and Rice (or at least that's how warrennolan.com has it listed). Also, FWIW they won at South Alabama on a Friday night.

For USM....USM is 7-0 when our Friday night starter is on the mound but not all of those were Friday games. 2 of our weekend series were tweaked due to weather and Easter. He pitched on Saturday in OOC action and then on a Thursday vs UTSA on Easter weekend. USM did lose once on a Friday as part of a DH at Marshall due to weather and it was our Saturday starter who was on the mound for that one. Overall it should be one heck of a game tonight at The Pete.

If the conference as a whole can win over half (but preferably 60%) their remaining OOC games it's a possibility I feel like. For USM our remaining OOC current RPIs are 4 (@Ole Miss). 26 (@UNO). 34 (UL-L). 56 (@Tulane) and 130 (UL-Monroe)

Hopefully our bats will come around this weekend. Our pitching has been pretty solid recently, minus the freaking walks (lead-off walks, in particular).

My old man is in H-town already. Bringing us back a load of crawfish for a Monday boil 04-cheers

Friday has seemed to be a bit of bad luck spot for pitchers.
McKay who had a couple bad starts there has pitched great in midweek games.
Rhodes was moved to Friday that week up from Saturday and struggled some.

A Marshall win over WVU would've been nice in that conference RPI battle with B12

Furman won at WVU tonight. Not sure of RPI before their game but Furman is now 182 while WVU fell to 68 which puts us back in 3rd for the time being.

ODU jumped out to a 9-0, FIU then scored 11 straight only to see ODU score 3 runs late and ODU wins 12-11

Saw this morning where USM has now won 22 of its last 23 CUSA regular season games dating back to last year when we finished the regular season with sweeps of Charlotte, Marshall and Middle Tennessee

I like that we had three teams lined up 14-15-16 in RPI entering the weekend.

Getting top 3 conference RPI would be nice but what I'd really like to see is sending multiple teams to Omaha this season.
