RE: Paul Ryan could be the choice.
Nominating Paul Ryan against the wishes of most Republican voters would cause a collapse in the GOP and would violate whatever limited trust people still have in the nomination process. The fact that nominating Ryan is even being considered is ridiculous - he never even ran in the first place. Trump would almost certainly run third party.

Also, as many have already stated, Ryan doesn't want a smaller government in the remotest sense - he's the kind of Republican I would like to see go extinct. I think many other GOP voters feel the same way, and thus we now have Trump.

However, I could see Kasich getting the nomination if there is some kind of brokered deal with Cruz and Trump.... I'm not sure that would work, but I think that certainly could happen.

the nomination process has been shite from the get go....it's nothing more than a control mechanism coupled with the media being spoon fed info from the top brass....

RE: Paul Ryan could be the choice.
You know, If You think about it, If Republicans screw Trump & Cruz and both went 3rd party as a team, The Republican voters that supported them in the primaries likely would support That ticket. And likewise, a massive amount of Independents that want a third party would vote for it. Likely They also could pull in a lot of Democrats that would have just held Their noses at voting for Hillary or Bernie, but never would have voted Republican under any circumstances. Stranger things have happened. Both the Republicans and Democrats have a lot of soul searching to do in the near future.

BS. That is absurd Herd.

All my conservative friends would be out.

For real. There is no support for the establishment. The establishment is just using Cruz and Kasich so that no one gets to 1237 and then they can come in a determine a nominee. Good luck with that.

Ryan sure would offend the POC (Pissed Off Crowd) but hey, f'ck 'em.

Unless they change the rules QS... (which someone said they vote on whether or not to change any rules, the tuesday before the convention, and we know they will)... Kasich needs a miracle to qualify for delegates votes.

Because if they don't win 8 states during the primary campaign, they cannot receive delegate votes.

Kasich still has an OUTSIDE shot, but that's it at best (since he needed 117% of the remaining delegates to win), but he's got to sweep some states and soon.

They really want to change the rule. Their trouble is that both Cruz and Trump are going to fight against that change so it will be hard to pull off.

disagree......Trump will force that change in totality....is why the rnc has fought him from day 1

Of course they want to change the rules. IMO, if they thought they could get away with it, they'd change the rules to totally ignore the nomination process THEY PUT IN PLACE and go and just pick someone to their liking - even if it's someone that never actually, you know, ran for the office.

I guess we will see just how far the eiltes are willing to go as far as ignoring the wishes of the voters they pretend to represent.

You are smoking something. Have you not seen the egos on this pair of jackasses? There's no way in hell either would agree to play second fiddle to the other.

And that's currently, true, But if both think the Republican establishment were Screwing both of Them out of the nomination and Both felt They could make up and join to win as 3rd party independents, there possibly could be a realistic option.Especially with millions of disenfranchised Republican, Independent and Democrat voters in the aftermath. The 3rd party Nuclear option to middle finger the establishment parties.

Cruz ain't going independent. He's made his peace with the Bushes and the Republican establishment. He won't be upsetting any apple carts.

Nobody running is going 3rd party. They would be disqualified to be on the ballot in many states.

I can't see Independents in large numbers going for a Trump/Cruz ticket. Possibly Trump/Kasich.

Doesn't mean that they can't campaign for or against others. Donald just has to say the word and we walk.
