I've got IU beating UTC first round in my bracket, and I'm rewarding them with a trip to the Sweet 16 for doing so.

04-rock

Edit:

CBS Sports actually gives a slight nod to UTC at 52% chance. I don't think McCall deserves to win his first NCAA tournament game in his first year just for playing his cards right. Call me bitter, but I'm actually downright sour. Attribute it to a smashing rivalry.
I'm actually cheering for UTC to win - but only because I want to see UK demolish them in the 2nd round. 05-mafia

Why delay the punishment with reward? Hoping IU goes barbarian on UTC, 15 pt win tonight.
I'm a massive fan of UK, having grown up in Kentucky. It's in my blood. UTC getting stomped by UK just is so much more satisfying for me.

Tell Calipari to schedule UTC out of conference next year. There is nothing satisfying to me in seeing UTC win in the big dance after the SoCon debacle. I'll be the 3 yrold and represent the RIVALRY.

pretty comical when folks talk smack on a team that they've lost 5 straight to and are just 27-45 against over 65 years. Looks to me like the "rivalry" is pretty one-sided. Yes I'm hoping UTC wins for the simple reason that it would lift the SoCon profile and ETSU's as well. And beating them next year would garner much greater attention for the Bucs. Guess all that's just too logical though.

I'm definitely pulling for the Mocs. Would be great for the SoCon, great pub, better power rating for the conference, would help in recruiting and possibly more TV games. It also means money to all SoCon Schools.

It's a shame we weren't in the Socon during the Shulman years, that gap would be much closer if we were. But I do agree with JustBuc that the rivalry is pretty one-sided right now and frankly it's unacceptable.

SEC! SEC! SEC!

Alabama winning all these national championships has been wonderful for UT the past 8 years.

Rooting for your rival is about as pathetic as it gets. You would be wise to delete your account after that.

I will sincerely congratulate UTC if they do win. For now, it's a messageboard, and the hole you crawled out from this summer is still missing a troll.

Let me add that "we" didn't lose to anyone. The team lost. Don't forget, "we" as fans are not allowed in the Just Buc rulebook to talk about the team using a 1st person plural pronoun.

Just Buc has spoken. I hope UTC wins the NCAA tournament fouling three point shooters and hitting free throws on technicals, if that's what it takes.

Was kind of close at the half but it is getting ugly starting the second half.

The wheels fell off for Florida Gulf Coast, down by 1 at the half 40-41. Down 46-66 with 11 minutes left.

Chattanooga and Indiana are both giving us some great dunks to enjoy, but Indiana is winning the dunk contest and that only counts for the actual points. Little Yogi is also too much. Speed beats length.

Chattanooga goes down by 25. They were the "it" pick to be this years 12 over 5 seed upset.
Little Rock and Yale pulled it off, so much for experts.

FGCU goes down by 16.

RE: Official Game Thread: Southern Conference Championship vs UTC
I think IU played more like a top seeded team tonight and UTC's play had been declining at end of conference. I think IU will make it through the next game to the Sweet 16. But Chatt got the previous wins and the most important one in the SoCon, the conference championship. Congratulations to them for getting this far. ETSU could not have done much better tonight, not without UTC's level of defense.

Chatt will be even tougher and burning for an NCAA win next year--this, more than anything, will make them a team to bring greatness out of ETSU. The rivalry continues. Maybe ETSU can do well in Vegas and make the SoCon a bit proud at their small dance.

Chattanooga's 25 point loss was unexpected, but always a possibility in a one-bid conference. Their 29 win season is what they will be remembered for by fans and SoCon followers. I will shut up now about the conference championship game. At least until this time next year.

Doesn't say much for ETSU and the rest of the conference if Chattanooga's play had been declining and they were still able to win the tournament.
I guess you could mean they were so much better then even at a decreased level they were still good enough to beat everyone else.

No, it doesn't say much, and I agree. I thought ETSU was getting hot at the right time and gelling, but they didn't bring it all against Chattanooga. Chatt wasn't blowing teams out, and was even at risk of dropping from 1st place in the final stretch of conference. The rest of conference, outside of UTC & ETSU was weak, or weaker by comparison (but better than ASun, importantly). I've said more prejudicedly that the SoCon didn't want their thoroughbreds beat by first time Forbes and a team of transfers, but it's all meant to suggest that, yes, the conference is not "strong". Only a few teams had a regular opportunity out of conference, and one of them fell apart because of off court issues (Mercer). Next year the conference should be stronger, and that's all you can hope for as a team and conference. Growth.

Please see bolded text. You do this all the time; take a passive aggressive shot at ETSU when it's un warranted and then when someone says something you get upset. It's your shtick. You want to be the "I don't see everything through gold colored glasses" guy. You're basically the VolNavyMan of the ETSU message board. You're definitely an ETSU fan but you take some pleasure in trying to burst people's bubble.

I think most of us can agree with that statement

Rod is the board's old crotchety uncle. He's one of "us" though, "we" who can at least agree to be Buc fans.

I think IU is my new favorite team beyond the Bucs. They gave us Peter Jurkin, Hanner Mosqueira-Perea, and a 25 point consolation prize.

Hahaha. Another point on why we would have done better then Chatt did against Indiana is our inside info from our transfers. haha
