It started back in the early debates when they let the moderators lead them into personal attacks on each other instead of focusing on the issues. It has just gotten worse from that point.
I think there's a fair chance that left-leaning moderators tried to push them into the personal attacks rather than debating the issues because that was the best way to help Hillary or whoever becomes the democrat nominee. Republicans are never going to win a battle of personalities, particularly not in the current media climate. They have to make it about issues to have a chance. And abortion and gay marriage aren't winning issues with them. They just aren't. No matter how strongly your personal feelings on either one, they are not winning issues.
Gay marriage is over. Its no longer an issue.
Abortion can help done the right way. You can make the Democrats look like Kevorkians owned by the Planned Parenthood doctors. Its usually not done the right way.

That room was full of Trump supporters. Most of them raised their hand that they were for Trump before the debate, which is, of course why they responded like they did. Their man was slaughtered tonight. I thought these "focus" groups were supposed to be true "undecideds". NOT
LOL... when have you seen any "focus" group that were undecided? Every focus group, whether it's FOX, CNN, MSNBC or any of the others have always stacked their televised focus groups one way or another, whether it's pro-Trump, Pro-Hillary, Pro-Obama, etc.

If Kasich can't even stand by his own ad with Trump staring him down on national tv, does snyone think he'll fight against Hillary? No.
That's a bigger problem form him than his wishy washy stances on some of the issues (he claims to be the guy to rein in the budget but proposed billions in new spending last night).

Luntz' group is the worst.
Agreed firm.. I actually turn off whatever news station I'm watching if Luntz is on there with his "Unbiased" focus group because I know it's BULL.

The debate last night brought back memories of that VP Debate back in '92 where Perot's VP (can't remember his name) was totally lost, had no clue what to say, and it was actually painful to watch. The difference was that he wasn't pressed to give any specifics....he was just lost. Last night Trump was pressed to give positions and specifics and the look on his face made me think of that poor VP candidate in '92.

Yeah, I felt kind of bad for him, but it was a preview of what a general election debate with Hillary and Stephanopolus (sp?) would look like. I hope the electorate saw and wakes up.

Yeah..He got exposed. It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the voters. I'm beginning to think as long as it is a 4 man race..Trump is going to win big everywhere but Ohio and Florida. He will finish close 2nd there too. I don't see a way to stop him at this point unless he gets caught molesting some kid or something.

Kasich and Rubio are behind in their home states. Rubio has cut out advertising for Ohio and putting everything into Florida.

My gut is telling me this might end up being a Cruz/Rubio ticket and I could go for that.

There were just too many in the mainstream lane. If Kasich never entered, Jeb probably would have been a solid 2nd in NH. Trump wouldn't have been so strong and it might have provided enough momentum to take out Rubio in SC and again be close to Trump. Cruz would be just hanging on with two bad 3rds instead of two close 3rds. It would be a much better chance to take out Trump. Rubio's inexperience just makes it hard for people to unite behind him.

Cruz is now making a play for Florida. Either Marco is dropping out or there is no definitive Cruz/Rubio agreement and all this is just a non-aggression pact.
