I have never seen the kid play but I will tell you that after seeing Xavier Green play, I find it hard to believe that anyone we bring in could have more upside than him. Trust me, I understood the excitement over Evans because of the points and the OK ST departure but Xavier Green is going to be so special.

What we need now....We must find a grad transfer PG. Caver is fully capable of running the show but imagine handing the reigns to him when he is a junior? I like that idea a lot more. Is there a list of any Grad Transfers that will be out there. We must use this scholarship for a point guard. If we don't....you may see our big time freshman getting some time at the point. He needs the ball in his hands anyway. You wanted a 6'7 point guard? You just might have him. There are triple doubles in this kid's future.

Reality is that if we didn't let him out, there is not much we could've done to prevent him from transferring later. He's a good player but we still have a shot at good talent and chemistry without him.

Twitter rumors/Ed Miller think he'll probably end up at Oklahoma FWIW.

Ive been on the grad transfer PG bandwagon even with Evans in the fold, now more so. (or JUCO?) The list of grad PGs isn't impressive though.

Lets just get the kid that left Hawaii....

But would not be able to play right away?

Trey Freeman is #1 and Aaron Bacote is #7 in C-USA usage. Even if we trend towards more balance we need a dynamic lead guard next season to go along with our slower/bigger roster.

More that I hate that I was right. I even had a post deleted for calling out this kid's inability to commit to anything.

What makes you say that our roster will be slower next season? I agree with the bigger part, but Porter, Colbert, and BJ Stith don't look like they would be necessarily be slower than Brandan, Denzel, and Aaron. Porter and Colbert especially look like they are built for speed (for their size). Same is true for Xavier coming in. Kah is in the 6'9" 210-220 range so he is likely pretty fast for his size too.

I hate that we lost Evans, but I do feel like the combination of Caver and Xavier can do the job if no one else with more experience is added. Markus Evans is running the show nicely for Rice as a true freshman and Xavier is someone that Coach Jones really wanted pretty badly it seems. He also seems to want to play the Point Guard position, and didn't want to red shirt.

He doesn't try to shoot the three very often (3-11.) Most of his shots seem to be a lot closer to the rim.
