Win at SMU and don't lose to USF and UH suddenly is looking at being a single digit NCAA seed, especially if Grand Canyon hadn't slipped.

Memphis is lower (as of now), while Temple and UCF are higher.

Has been pretty accurate. Memphis is under performing. UCF still hard to tell they have beaten USF,ECU and Tulane all bottom feeders

I think we were about where we should be in the preseason polls, maybe one spot higher. We beat the teams we are supposed to beat but lose comfortably to the teams we are supposed to lose to.

This AAC Poll was taken back in Oct...obviously when no one knew UCF's BJ Taylor would be out for the year...because if that was known at the time, wouldn't be surprised if UCF would have been selected 11th, instead of 9th.

UCF lost all 3 games to ECU last year and split with USF last season too...so its nice that UCF won all 4 games vs those teams this year...even without BJ.

Dude is he blowing you? You literally bring him up in every basketball thread.

LOL this guy is mad about something

Likewise ECU had a full roster back in October, versus right now; as they they have been playing short handed due to all of the injuries.

Every team has injuries. ECU is just a very meh basketball team--last year, this year, every year.

True. Nothing to argue with there.

So 1 or 2 teams make the NCAAs?

All I can say is that thank God SMU can't compete in the conference tournament and the AAC has an auto-bid, or else there'd be a possibility of 0 teams.

The bubble is incredibly soft this year.

UCONN is projected solidly in at a 9 seed. We should get at least 2 in this year...3 if an unusual suspect wins the conference tourney.

As a Tiger fan, I just want this season to end, wake up and see where Pastner has either resigned or has been fired. Good luck to the rest of you in the conference, hope to see some of you in the big dance. The good news for me and other Tiger fans is, spring football is right around the corner.

Sounds eerily familiar....sure you are not talking about a Memphis coach?

Pastner is a slow moving train wreck...sorry for the good Hoops fans in Memphis to endure it. He needs to go.

I think UConn is the only sure bet right now...I think Cincy has a decent shot...whom else are you thinking about?

I think UCONN and Cincy make it. The third would be if someone other than those 2 wins the conference tourney - Temple probably has the best shot.

Personally I don’t think we get 3. I would say at this point UConn is the favorite to win the conference tournament. I’ve only watched bits and pieces of their last 2 games but they look like a different team with Brimah back, much more confident. Take one from the UC, Temple and Tulsa mix and that’s it.

UC will be one step closer to the conference title after we skull drag Memphis today.

If Temple wins out or close to it, they may get in. They have a win over SMU. We need Cincy and UConn to step up and a dream scenario is any 2 of Temple, Houston or someone else making the tourney final. That could result in 3-4 teams, which is actually more than last year (the AAC and SMU was screwed a year before that).

In what parallel universe has UCONN not stepped up this year? Or are you red-a$$ed that Houston hasn't been able to defeat UCONN in the 'important' sports?

This year looks a little grim for the AAC, but looking forward to next year---we could easily place 4 or more in the tournament during the 2016-2017 season. Temple, Houston, and Memphis will likely all be improved and SMU will be eligible again. No reason to believe UConn and Cinci will fall off. Plus Tulsa always seems to be solid.

Oh geez, I thought some of my fellow UH fans were oversensitive, all I'm saying is that they need to step up and be safely in the field. And last time I checked, UH beat UConn the last couple years with some of the worst teams it has ever put on the court, so there goes your last sentence. And that's not even the major sport UH should have beaten UConn in.

Their football fame could be fleeting...I think their hire is good but you gotta wait. Pastner has killed all momentum...they are not even in the national picture anymore. However, a good hire and they can be back quickly...their arena is fabulous and lots of talent in the area.
