4* juco wide receiver juwann Winfree just decommited from Pitt and will be deciding soon it's between us and Colorado. He was here last weekend on a visit. If we can get him along with a couple more I wonder could that get us in the top 50.

He was a four-star wideout reportedly offered by a slew of major programs, including Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, South Carolina, and others.

He's very similar to hart. He was committed to Pitt. And the other schools moved on and some kinda way things happened at Pitt and now he's available. I'm hoping since he was just here we flipped him.

RE: Juwann Winfree
We're now competing with P5 schools in our higher level recruits with CMN. Interesting to see how recruits respond with us being a non P5 school....

He's a bigger receiver. 6'2" 210 lbs. JC guy. Based on his list of schools on rivals we have a good shot.

Here is his rivals profile

Not sure exactly what the issues may have been but I don't think it had anything to do with Pitt. He played at Maryland and that is where the issues occurred. At any rate, here's a story on the the guy. >>> Juwann Winfrey article <<<

This quote makes me feel confident that the young man is not only aware of his mistakes but also learned from them and is moving on - "After I made those mistakes, it hurt myself, hurt my family, hurt my town," Winfree, a 6-2, 190-pounder, told NJ.com. "It was just little dumb decisions. So I just told myself that I can't afford to make those decisions. I've got to bounce back strong. And I know I'm gifted enough. God blessed me with the talent that if I just work hard and push and show people, that positive things would happen. And hopefully I would be able to get back to where I'm supposed to go."

Winfree is a long, quick, explosive wide receiver threat, who if motivated, has the ability to compete with anyone at the next level."

The latest on #cubuffs WR target Juwann Winfree: http://www.buffzone.com/buffzone-blogs/c...r-receiver

Quote:Winfree said that in addition to CU and Memphis, several schools, including Mississippi State and Washington State, have contacted him this week, and he said he is weighing his options.

It is expected, however, that Winfree will sign with CU, where he already has several connections.

Didn't know he had "connections" already at Colorado. Sounds as if we're out on this one. Hope I'm wrong but not expecting to sign him.

He only has 1 year of eligibility anyway. Not a big miss for Memphis. If he wants to pad his stats at Colorado more power to him

I don't think he redshirted for his 2 years at Maryland. He didnt redshirt in juco either.

Signed in 14 and played in 14 at Maryland. Kicked off team with two games left. Played juco last year. You don't have to sit out to transfer to juco. That's two years. He will be a junior. Will play two seasons for whoever it is
