Also regarding the OC, Nick or one of the other press guys posted a while back that Candle was not going to change the offense and the new OC would have to learn to run the UT offense, rather than having UT adapt to the new OC's offense.

Maybe not necessarily this guy's fault and that he just wasn't a good fit for the offense the head coach wanted to run. It sounds like this guy would be good for "fine tuning" the offense vs. changing it.
According to FAU's HC, they fired Wilson because they wanted someone that could run a quick tempo spread and as Boca mentioned, someone probably had to be the fall guy. Wilson applied last year for the HC at Youngstown. I can see that might not go over well either, that and the offense stunk.
Doesn't SOUND like he had much luck recruiting talent in Florida but as Boca wrote, someone lives in Florida four years is going to have "connections" (cough, white pages cough) with high school coaches. Time will tell. One of those hope I'm wrong sort of things. Given only one to pick, much rather have someone that can call x's and o's over another great recruiter.
Quick tempo spread, I thought that's what Wilson ran at Montana St? Must work better against their competition than against FAU's. He was also faulted for his red-zone calls. Sounds familiar. Anyhow, FAU picked up a coach from Sanford.

I think you mean Wright, not Wilson.
He has run a fast tempo spread offense, so those comments from Partridge you mention don't make any sense.
Sounds like you are very knowledgeable though about recruiting connections. You even coughed. I guess we should all defer to you there.

I'm just reading off the internet, making no bones about it. For sure, feel free to give facts and how you know them. I don't know who made the comments about his inability to run red-zone, it just said FAU sports admin, so someone internal I guess. What do his numbers say about red-zone performance?
As I also said, someone that can call the x's and o's is really all that matters. He's been in Florida for a burp and his offensive teams were not particularly successful. Does that scream, "great recruiting connections?" As I also said, he ran that offense in Montana St and I hope I'm wrong but more on the x's and o's than the less material recruiting. We've got recruiters.

If you liked how the offense played in the bowl game, look for more of the same this coming season. Rocket fast, sounds good to me.

I said............."Guy has ties to Florida and Ohio." How does that get turned into "great recruiting connections?"
I really wouldn't worry much about the level of talent at FAU. They just started playing football about 14 or 15 years ago and have not been very good. Eli Rasheed came to Toledo from FAU. He was one of Toledo's best assistant coaches.

What parts of staff are still missing, do you know? DC?

DC is Brian George. He's also the DL coach. He was the DC at Kent State before. I believe the only coach that still needs to be hired is a LB coach.
By the way, FAU broke a school record for team rushing yards in a season in 2015.

Alfred Morris -FAU/2012 NFL Draft- Washington Redskins
2008 Motor City Bowl FAU 24 CMU 21
2007 New Orleans Bowl FAU 44 Memphis 27
If you look at FAU's OOC schedule since they became FBS in 2004 you'd see:
Alabama
Auburn
Clemson
Florida
Georgia
Kansas
Kansas State
Kentucky
Louisville
U Miami
Michigan State
Minnesota
Navy
Nebraska
Oklahoma State
South Carolina
South Florida
Texas
Not the best way to pad wins to your schedule.

Reported on twitter new Strength & Conditioning coach is Brad Bichey, formerly assistant S&C coach at Arkansas. Guess he liked what the Rockets did to the Razorbacks.

Sounds like an up and coming guy that got to work with some good ones and now he has a top job in the MAC, and with great facilities to boot, welcome aboard Brad!

Wasn't Ward a disaster at UT?
During Ward's 3 season run at UT, the Defense made major improvements in rushing defense, creating turnovers, tackles for loss, and defensive sacks.

The defense stunk when he was here. Not saying it was all his fault. Lost points with me when he was living in BG while he was coaching at Toledo. With the problems at Illinois, I'm surprised these guys are employable.
