That doesn't seem outrageous, just high.
I think the prices vary from city to city based on supply and demand. When I lived in Memphis I never had problems getting tickets to a concert. Since we moved to Dallas, it's a pain in the @$$, a fight and sometimes impossible to get tickets to top acts. Paid $225 each to see The Who back in May, but it was worth it.
Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Bon Jovi, U2, Springsteen, no way unless I went thru a broker.

Yeah, I just couldn't do it for The Who, with Entwhistle and Moon gone. But I'm sure it was a great show.

I remember seeing Mott at the Auditorium. Don't remember Queen. Musta a been a different tour. Seems like it was a couple years after '73.

I never saw Pink Floyd or the original The Wall tour. I think that stings the most.

Never saw them either and wish I did.
But all those concerts we saw... so many people pressed together and most of us wasted..
Not sure, but I think I like listening to that music now as much as then, especially with someone who likes it too.
It can happen in public places with strangers of all ages and nationalities. All of sudden everybody knows the music being piped in.

They came back in 74, but maybe Queen was only with them for part of the 73 tour. There's a documentary about it and Queen was definitely the opener in New York. They broke up in 75 when Hunter left, but after Ralphs left in 73 it wasn't the same anyway.

Or if it's really obscure, but you know it, and then you see somebody else in the crowd who knows it too. That's cool.

Back then, listening to your parents music was totally taboo. Lawrence Welk on Sunday nights. And all that crap on Sunday mornings. Kids today don't realize how good they have it.

Yes. Neither one of my parents were big music buffs, but I clearly remember playing on the floor at my grandparents house and ignoring Lawrence Welk (I was, like, five or eight) not hating Gunsmoke and sometimes liking Ed Sullivan.
