saban is the king, but im not sure he could "build" a program. he won national champs at LSU and Bama.....those are hardly building jobs.
id take freeze over anybody in the sec. he'll get a chance at a blueblood program......or he may turn ole miss into a blueblood program

They only went to the Sugar Bowl because Alabama was playing for the Big Enchilada.
One final thing: 37 - 24. A legitimate @ss beating handed down by the TIGERS on national network TV. Put THAT in your investment portfolio, Freeze.
Yet we still offered Fuente far less than Freeze got.
Yeah, the AAC in year 3 of existence hasn't reached the level of SEC yet. So AAC salaries are not at a P5 level, if you're unable to grasp the core issue. But MEMPHIS did offer a pay hike to around $2.4mm, which would have made Fuente ahead of all but Herman.
I guess this means Bowen and our heavy hitters were as impressed with our win about as much as the the Ole Miss folks were disappointed that they lost to us.
No, wrong again. MEMPHIS was giddy in administering the whipping while Missippi was upset about enduring it, LOL. Quite a few were impressed, particularly VT. TV share was fairly good and the CFP pollsters were impressed a bit. Plus the TIGERS kicking that Black Bear @ss basically ended their CFP hopes. That's just TOO sweet no matter how you cut it and led to much of the angst displayed by the Confederate faithful over playing MEMPHIS.
But I'm still Tigah High til the day I die.
You expose yourself here, overplaying the old snub chanted by the rednecks down in Missippi for years. It's MEMPHIS or the University of MEMPHIS or TIGERS, head.
37-24. Take the pain. No CFP consideration.
My responses in bold above.

I'm just waiting on the NCAA to announce they're opening an investigation into Ole Miss football under Freeze.
Any day now.

Yep
That's just silly. You really think he should have been a serious candidate after 2 years of low level NAIA coaching? The best job he qualified for after that gig was OC at Arky State.
I will gladly blame a lot of things on RC. Not hiring Freeze is not one of them.
he went 10-2 as HEAD COACH at Ark state and won the conference title.
rc hired a guy with no coaching experience
He hired 2 guys with no coaching experience. One is gone and one is still here.
3 - with Fuente. I know, RC had very little to do with the hire. But it happened on his watch.
And Mr. Freeze didn't go from Lambuth to HC at Arky State. He went as OC. It was the best gig he could get with his resume. The HC job fell to him later. He was not in position to get hired as Memphis HC. That's like saying we should have hired Mike Tomlin when he was a GA here in the 90's. Sure, he wanted the job, and look at him now...peanut gallery.

Freeze brought 3 top NFL draft picks, along with the best overall lineup Missippi money can buy, into the LB and got it handed to him. Totally out-coached and there's no argument otherwise. So if he's the top builder in the SEC, Fuente will soon be king of college football.

The post was a bit tongue-in-cheek, kind of like when Auburn won their last MNC or whenever Kentucky puts up another banner "that's destined to come down."
People have been waiting on Freeze to get hammered by the NCAA for so long that I suspect it won't be coming.

To My Fellow Human,
I don't believe that you and I have spoken before. Quick question – if you woke up every morning and took a perfect dump that require only one wipe, would that interest you?
If so, there is a product that does exactly that. Rest assure you will not be disappointed with the results:

Mmhmmm... You give me a choice of an SEC coach to build a program, I'm starting with Saban. After that, you could choose pretty much anyone in the SEC West, or maybe McElwain.

Yeah, not likely. They tried for 3 years and got a 7 game suspension for a loaner car...
