Big Boy FB Leagues 2020
Ok guys/gals

Give me your best bet at your dream 64-80 teams to play Big Time FB in the year 2020. Assume conference champions can be decided among leagues as small as 8. Look at branding, history, demographics, geography, overall sports departments, TV, school ratings...Remember you are the King and can make any thing happen...You own ESPN/FOX/CBS and the NCAA.

You can assume that up to 8-10 extra conferences will come along for other sports championships...but if they play FB it will be a best of G5/1AA type division for FB.

I'm going with 8 leagues of 10...keep it symmetrical...my first draft

I like Old Big East Indie. But you should have called it the "Paterno -- I really love Pitt" conference.

So whom do I remove to add them? My initial parameter was 64-80 total schools.

I would move Cincinnati out of the Ole East to the Great Lakes East.
Maryland is more in line of the Mid Atlantic states.

Northeast:
Boston College
U. Mass.
UConn.
Rutgers
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
Penn State
West Virginia
Temple
Buffalo
Army

Maybe a Stony Brook in the future?

Mid-Atlantic:
UVA
Virginia Tech
Duke
UNC
NCSt
Wake Forest
ECU
Old Dominion
Maryland
Navy

Towson could be an option, and maybe James Madison as well.

Southeast:
Tennessee
UGA
GTech
FSU
Miami
UCF
USF
Bama
Auburn
Chattanooga
Georgia Southern

Gulf Coast:
Memphis
MS St
Ole Miss
Vandy
Arkansas
Southern Miss.
Arkansas State
LSU
La-Tech
Houston
Rice
Texas A&M

Great Lake East:
Ohio State
Toledo
Ohio U.
Cincinnati
Western Kentucky
Marshall
Kentucky
Louisville
Michigan
Michigan State
Central Michigan

Great Lake West:
Western Michigan
Indiana
Notre Dame
Purdue
Northwestern
Illinois
Northern illinois
Northwestern
Wisconsin
Illinois State

Great Plains North:
Minnesota
Iowa
Iowa State
Northern Iowa
Nebraska
North Dakota State
Missouri
Montana
Montana State
Wyoming

Great Plains South:
Texas
Texas Tech
TCU
Baylor
UTSA
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Kansas
Kansas State
Tulsa
Wichita State

Mountain:
Colorado
Colorado State
Air Force
New Mexico
UTEP
West Texas A&M
Texas State
Utah State
Northern Arizona
New Mexico State

Northwest:
Oregon
Oregon State
Portland State
Washington
Washington State
Eastern Washington
Boise State
Utah
BYU
UNR

Southwest:
California
Stanford
USC
UCLA
Fresno State
San Diego State
Hawaii

The problem with some of the ideas is that putting schools in regions that they do not fit.

I forgot South Dakota State for the great plains north.

Maybe add a VCU, Dayton and Gonzaga, break away from the rest of the D1 schools, and have an FBS and FCS division in basketball.

There are not 64 "Big Boy" football programs, let alone 80. It requires a bit of charity to reach 40.
