Home field advantage?
MTSU President Sidney McPhee is a Nassau, Bahamas native... and he's already down there campaigning. Probably doesn't bode too well for us in terms of having sort of a home-field advantage (good read though):

http://www.tribune242.com/news/2015/dec/...bowl/?news

Quote:“What was embarrassing to me was when the cameras panned the stadium, you could find any sole in that stadium. I talked to the folks at both schools and they said they had a great time but they were very disappointed the game was not supported by the locals. Now, you have no excuse because now you have a Bahamian with his team. I have told my folks in Tennessee that I know my Bahamian friends, colleagues and associates are not going to embarrass me. I expect that stadium to be jam packed. All eyes will be looking at Nassau and the Bahamas Bowl.

Quote:“I met with the principal of my former high school and they are going to be bringing 200-300 students from my old school RM Bailey, so I’m very pleased about that,” he said.

RE: Home field advantage?
Can someone verify that the Bahamas bowl was one of the highest TV rated bowl games? Could have sworn the only info I saw on this was it was one of the, if not the lowest. Did have a heck of a finish.

I'm not sure how they derive at median ad price of $0, but I was surprised to find the Bahamas Bowl's TV rating outperformed GoDaddy, Camelia and our own Potato bowl. I guess the midday slot on Christmas Eve isn't so bad.

It didn't even have the highest rating that day. Game that night, Fresno State vs. Rice in Hawaii Bowl, was higher (1.3 to 1.1).

The MTSU Presidents brother Earlston McPhee is an executive with the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism.
MTSU basketball team was there in August.

Yes MTSU is definitely the home team

Even so, that "edge" is probably negligible. Their fans may outnumber ours by a few hundred or so, but that's about it. It's not like Terrell will have trouble getting the plays off because of distracting volume from the stands.
