Coach Dickey - New Info
I just spoke with Tommy Ferrari who played QB under Coach Dickey in the late 80's & early 90's.

He and Isaac Bruce are about to get with 50 or so former players and make a push for Coach Dickey.

They love the man & want all the fans to know that he would not be a settle hire. In fact, Tommy has asked for a membership to this board to come tell you guys more about coach & what he brings to the table. Andy should be approving him shortly.

We may also see an influx of former players on this board which would be fantastic.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Back on the football front, I would like you all to take a closer look at what Coach Dickey has accomplished in his career & as the OC at Memphis. I think if you saw his resume at another school you would be thrilled to see him interview.

Coach is loved by the kids, loves the school, and would NOT view the job as a stepping stone job. This should be the kind of guy we need at the helm. He would bring stability & honor to our position.

From anybody else I would dismiss the notion. From you, I'm all ears.

Isaac never played for Dickey. Not saying your info is wrong, but I don't know what the connection is.

Is he driven enough to raise the standard or is he going to be content to collect a check. No offense just a real question. Did Bruce love porter

I believe this. The players love him and so do some of the parents. He's hugely popular. Not a bad thing.

Just a former player that knows and respects coach Dickey. I think a bunch of former players would embrace the hire.

I also think he is a good man who would do his best to keep us moving forward.

Yep.

For the record, I like Coach Dickey and am not opposed to the idea of him being HC. Not a sexy, wow hire, but I know he's a good coach.

Dickey had a heart attack, too. Near the end of his time at UNT.

But they named a IPF for him after he was fired so that says something...right.

Could be, Drew. Certainly more offensive minded.

Isn't that how we got Porter?

Wasn't Dickey the guy some people in this forum blamed for sabotaging Porter? I think I distinctly remember that conspiracy theory floating around back then.
